Replenishing tea (giveaway)

Say it with me now: So-Ken-Bi-Cha So = Refreshing Ken = Health Bi = Beauty Cha = Tea In other words, Sokenbicha is a refreshing tea that helps your body stay healthy and beautiful from the inside out.   A little background… Last month I was talking with a patient’s friend and she mentioned that she drinks aloe.  As a beverage, not a topical application.  Having seen these drinks pop up more and more at Whole Foods, I’ve been wondering about the health benefits (and more importantly the flavor).  It makes sense I guess.  Your… Read more >

Hollywood, Glendale, and Larchmont [oh my]

We covered some serious ground on Laura’s last day in LA! I’m a horrible sister considering I’ve lived in LA for over 6 years (four in college and two currently) and never taken her to see the touristy sights. Dream life

My dream life would consist of waking up, cooking and baking to my heart’s content, hanging out with my family and friends all day, exploring new and familiar neighborhoods in LA, eating at my favorite spots while trying new places, and having big family style meals a few nights a week at our new place. This is basically what I did these past few days.  I wish it didn’t have to end.   I woke up Monday morning and immediately began baking Kyle’s birthday treat.  He requested chocolate brownies, so that’s what I made. Day 7: Bye Bye Buenos

Bad news: Day 7 was our last one in Buenos Aires. Good news: We weren’t heading home, we were off to Uruguay!   Phew.  I definitely wasn’t ready to ditch my relaxing morning routine (and by that I mean lack of routine). For lunch Kyle and I wanted to go back to Palermo SoHo.  It was such a cute part of town, we figured it would be the best way to end our time in BsAs.  Also, we had been dreaming of this salad since we first had it earlier in the trip.  Randomly, Mark’s… Read more >

In honor of Meatout

Yesterday, March 20th, was Meatout.  I blogged about the campaign last week, which encourages veg friendly peeps to spread the word to their family, friends, and/or anyone else who is receptive. In honor of the day I took my sister (who is already very into plant based foods and vegan-friendly dining) to a few of my favorite hippie places around LA.    Actually that’s pretty much all we did these past 3 days.   Hey, I have to send her off to Australia in style, right?  I’m so sad that she’s leaving without a return ticket… Read more >
