dave’s killer bread

Merry marry 1st birthday weekend

Parties all around this weekend!  And lots of driving to get to them all!   This was the only thing I took a picture of on Thursday.  Clearly it was the highlight of my eating day (the highlight in the non-food realm was Peyton Manning scoring a million points for my fantasy team).  Dove dark chocolate is crazy good.  My mom gave us two bars as a part of a wedding anniversary present and I had been saving them…for what I don’t know.  I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did though. … Read more >

Spring Cleaning

I’ve sat down to write this post a few different times now.  Each time I stop because I don’t know where to begin and how much to share.  Here’s as much as I can get out for now. I’ve been withholding news. It’s really really exciting news.  But it’s also bittersweet. Remember that trip up to Nor Cal?  Where we visited my family and Kyle’s business in Davis?  Yeah, we were actually doing some house hunting too.  And guess what!  We found a [perfect!!!!] place so easily, it’s like it was meant to be.  I’m… Read more >

Catching up & solo parenting

Kyle’s been taking day trips away for business, which leaves me and P home alone together.  I realize this is how most new moms function after their spouse’s paternity leave ends (if they even get any!), but for me it’s a whole new learning curve.    Fortunately, my little guy is making leaps and bounds each and every day, so I can utilize the crib in the nursery (and video monitor) and boppy pillow (which neither of us were ready for during his first month of life).  His neck is getting really strong and he’s… Read more >

The lost footage

My last two days in Lynden were borderline horrible.  Friday’s migraine sidelined me like a shot to the liver.  The worst is when you know it’s coming…and (unfortunately) I’m very familiar with the onset of migraines.  I used to get them all the time in high school – and I mean the whole she-bang – aura, nausea, pounding head. So yeah, the I second the halo appeared, I knew I was in for it.  What I didn’t count on was being out for so long!  Bummer.  Thank you all for your advice and kind words…. Read more >

Confessions that you probably already know

Family size.  Party platter.  These words mean nothing to me. I can make a meal out of said portions without batting an eyelash.  I also have no issue with eating veggies and hummus for breakfast.  I also have no issue with eating “breakfast” at noon. Or drinking coffee, tea, and iced tea until my pee is clear. I also enjoy eating the same things several days in a row. Thank you Costco and thank you DKB.  [Seriously, if you haven’t tried this bread, you need to get your act together.  It’s only available in stores… Read more >
