The every-day eats

I am bad about taking pics of my daily eats (like I used to) but I get requests for them more than the “real” recipes…so here are  bunch of the quickie things I throw together on the regular.  From last week… Millet with sautéed spinach, baked tofu & avocado I made the millet in the rice cooker, sautéed the spinach with sesame oil and tamari, and used Wildwood tofu. I made extras.   I also re-made this salmon pasta, but in a HUUUUGE vat.   Lots of veggies to use up?  Throw them in!  I… Read more >

Some summer produce

I know everyone loves summer produce, so why bother write a love letter to strawberries?  We all love berries and melon and corn right?  Right.   Another present from my neighbor.  I’m going to make ginger lemonade with the juicer.  My own garden is doing pretty well too!   Left to right: lime tree, spinach, tomato, parsley & basil. Our early celebration

Well, you guys have blown me away.  The comments on this post literally brought tears to my eyes…I felt so much love.  I want to say thank you to every single one of you who wished us congratulations (and I will get to it…).  Obviously Kyle and I are beyond thrilled and it’s been sooo hard to keep this a secret (I’m shocked nobody was on to me earlier!).  I will probably blog more about the earlier pregnancy stuff in time, but for now back to regular posting… *************** Since we were away this weekend… Read more >

I’m 29

How did I celebrate my birthday?   First of all, I slept in.  Way in.  And even though I felt a bit guilty about it, I told myself I was allowed to do whatever I… Read more >

The most wonderful time

I know you guys don’t believe me, but working on Christmas Day is not that bad.  I mean, obviously I’d prefer to spend the morning in my PJs cozied up by the fireplace, opening presents with my family.  But don’t worry, I still made sure it was a festive day at the hospital.  After all, my patients need cheer on the 25th too.  It also helps that I happen to love my job.  And in the back of my mind I know that eventually I will be higher on the totem pole and get the… Read more >
