empty containers

I couldn’t decide on a title for this post. The real title should have been “how much chocolate and dessert food can you consume in 48 hours”…but that doesn’t really roll off the tongue. So, instead I decided to post photos of all the containers I’ve managed to polish off (as if wasting food in our move is my biggest concern). More death by chocolate (vegan) cake…aka the BEST slice of heaven on Earth.  Yuuuummmmmy!!  And this was only half way through (the original slice was about the size of a brick). And for those… Read more >

It’s too cold for a clever title

Today was a totally snack-y day.  I didn’t even really do meals, I was just grazing all day long.  That’s the bad part about about having days off when the weather is only 15 degrees outside.  I broke the fast with a HUGE glass of chocolate soymilk followed by a CHOCOLATE loaded coffee.  This stuff is THICK and sooooo good.  I am normally a silk soymilk girl, but this was on sale so I decided to give it a shot.  Man, was I in heaven.  It took all self control to not chug the entire… Read more >

What goes with hummus?

Answer: everything!  (duh!!) Honestly, what doesn’t go with hummus?!?!  I L-O-V-E sabra (so clearly I had a ton of hummus with dinner)!  I should start a Sabra fan club or something… Quite the plate of goodies: GC tofu, sweet potatoes, and a ww heel of bread – all topped with creamy, savory, classic hummus Ummm, how AMAZING does this bite look?  A chunk of tofu and a sweet potato circle held together with a dollop of hummus, HOLY YUM!! I wasn’t full, though, so I decided to try a new vegan product.  Chik’n strip “meal… Read more >

Countdown to Cabo

Woo hoo! Only 2 days ‘til I’m relaxing in warm and sunny Cabo San Lucas (well, technically only one day, since I leave tomorrow).  Vacay here I come!  Not that I’m living the rough life right now…vacation is vacation.  So even if I am holed up in my shoe box of an apartment (East coast weather…grrrrrrrr) at least I’m not at work, and at least I’m not having to brave the 30 degree weather at 5 am to get there, either.  Phew!  But, after putting in ALL those hours in December, I think I deserve… Read more >

my REAL christmas

Thanks to the time zone changes, my circadian rhythm was totally messed up, so I was up early, while everyone else slept in…well, not everyone. My mom was in the kitchen already starting the cooking/baking/prep and one set of Aunt and Uncle were off for their AM walk. I sat in the kitchen with my mom and made myself a big mug of coffee. My parents have the same froth machine as I do, so I made a nice perfectly foamy (and lactose free) coffee. Then I got ready for company (since people were coming over… Read more >
