Full Friday

Forget this Black Friday business, I’m too stuffed to function. I am actually having a hard time looking at the food photos I have from Thanksgiving…but the pictures of the kiddos…I could look at those all day.   It may be a while before I can comfortably post Thursday’s meal(s), but I have pre-feast work food to share.   First up, a peanut flour/oat breakfast.    In addition to oats and peanut flour, I stirred in some home-made granola and chia seeds as well.  Sometimes my breakfast bowls look semi-watery and I occasionally get questions… Read more >

Salvaging the silk

Remember how sad I was about the nog nuisance?  Well, if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m frugal.  I like to think of it as economically responsible, but I’ll admit, I’m borderline excessively thrifty when it comes to stretching my dollar.  And it’s not just with my money, but also with my food.  I’m the girl who takes home the last bite in a doggy bag.  I freeze anything and everything if I think it’ll go bad before I can finish it.  All in the name of food preservation. I ended up watching the latest episode of Glee (check out the creepy scene I paused it on) after tossing and turning in bed.  It’s hard to sleep when it’s light out and my body is all jacked up on caffeine.  I realize a mega caffeine Starbucks order wasn’t the wisest choice after being awake for 24 consecutive… Read more >

i heart Bruno’s

First of all, check out this BOMB shopping trip (I stocked up on the odwalla bars – mmmm). These are such great snacks because they aren’t too filling, but are still healthy and yum. Second of all, I feel as though Bruno’s Ravioli deserves a may-jah shout out considering I go there EVERY day I work. They have the best coffee (that also happens to be cheaper than starbucks) and their salads, sandwiches, and soups are to-DIE-for delicious. Everyone that goes there falls in love, and that’s not an exaggeration. So of course today was… Read more >
