thai food

It’s not delivery…

It’s pick-up. Since publishing my book, I’ve been rather lazy in the cooking department.  Home-made eats have been at an all time low.  Our kitchen is sad, I’m sure, but I’m enjoying the time off. Anyway, when delivery.com asked me if I’d like to try out their service (with a $10 off voucher) I said sure!  It was the perfect excuse (not that I need justification for getting take-out). I’d been craving Thai food for a while, so I entered our address and “thai” and immediately Thai Dishes popped up.  Perfect!  It was on my… Read more >

Philly: Continental

My groothie was the perfect energy boost I needed so I could walk the long way home from center city. But it didn’t stop me from enjoying a pre-dinner dessert snack.   I managed to stop half way through this frosting filled cookie delight but da-yam it was hard.  The cookie was thin enough that it didn’t dominate the sandwich, but the frosting was still balanced.  Yeah, it was sweet, but I was expecting it to be over the top excessive (which it actually wasn’t).  It was goooood. Snacks & the City

That last post had some pretty scenery from the weekend, but not a lot of eats.  Here’s a recap of last weekend at home, in food format. The next morning we slept in, which meant coffee and… Read more >

Mid-week vacation

Well hello! I keep thinking it’s Sunday night because Kyle and I just got back from an overnight stay in San Juan Capistrano.  We randomly decided to skip town after Kyle’s classes on Wednesday…he only has class one day a week and I didn’t have to be back at the hospital ‘til Friday, so why not? Kyle’s parents were happy to see us and took us to dinner at a new Thai place that just opened near their house. If you think the name is cheesy, you should see the menu!  Thai Juan On is… Read more >

It’s true what they say

“Home is where the heart is” Yup.  It’s true.  Lucky for me, I consider both the Bay Area AND Santa Monica “home.”  So even though it was a total joy to spend the weekend with my parents and sister, I’m glad to be back with Kyle.  Win win.  Eventually I will recap the wedding in more detail (so fun!), but for now, I’m trying to get organized for work tomorrow (reality check…wah wah). I had leftovers from Patxi’s for Saturday brunch.  I had baby carrots a la mode because I enjoy fiber.   Even day… Read more >
