Outside eats

I definitely cook way more than eat out, but over the past month I seemed to have amassed several food photos from restaurants and such that I felt like sharing.  I’m surprised I have so many actually because (a) I kinda forgot I had a blog for a while there and stopped taking pics of my eats; and (b) it’s a miracle my hard drive has room for anything given the insane volume of pacman videos it holds.  But sometimes yummy food needs to be photographed and apparently that’s engrained in me no matter how much time I take away from HHH.  🙂

My parents visited one weekend when Kyle was out of town and we went to farmer’s market for breakfast.  I got an egg sando from Fat Face.  I’d say it’s the best breakfast fare at market but that would be lying because there’s also this…

If you are in the Bay Area check out your local farmer’s markets because Flour Chylde Bakery is SO freakin awesome.

They are gluten free but they’d be a hands down favorite regardless of dietary preferences.

My mom and dad got a box and I got a box.  They lasted almost a week and that was with VERY good self control.

The one wrapped separately has almond flour in it, so he packaged it so it wouldn’t touch the rest.  P didn’t eat any, but I still thought it was very thoughtful; of him (because I was asking about which had nuts, etc. as I was choosing them).

The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was the best, but the almond chocolate coconut (in the bag) was really close behind.  Oh, and the coffee cake!  That was super fluffy and soft.  Mmmmm.  Obviously there were no duds – I’d buy every single one again (and plan to since they are at market every weekend).

If you saw my insta feed you saw this already but HOT DAYAM.  First time trying noosa and I’m in love.  The pumpkin was too hard to resist.  And they are NOT cheap.  I bought 5 more and plan on making them last all fall.  Hahahahaha.

We were in LA visiting friends a couple weekends ago and hit up LPQ for breakfast one day.

I got the seasonal avocado toast and OMG OMG OMG, I wish we had an LPQ near us in Davis just so I could go back and get this.  Yes, avo on toast seems simple enough to recreate, but no, trust me the smoky citrus salt with chia seeds and olive oil and lightly dressed kale and carrot ribbons together were all too heavenly for me to imagine doing in my own kitchen.

I also walked to Native Foods one day while P was napping and football hit a lull.

I got the Mexican Cobb with tempeh (instead of chik’n) and the memories of their delicious vegan fare flooded my taste buds.  Yums.

And some WF cookie shopping to smuggle in my suitcase because “it’s vacation” (?).  Sure, that’s it.
