Pack it all in day

I mean this both literally and figuratively.  I was Errands McGee today, and I definitely ate enough to fuel it all.  Sheesh.  Just you wait…you’ll see!

IMG_4028IMG_4035

I had a lovely morning with a frothy java and scoop ‘o almonds.  YUMMY!

Like a five year old, I played with my food a little, too.  I’m so mature.

IMG_3899IMG_4027

I got a little sun this past weekend, huh?  Oops!!  Fueled on crack caffeine and nuts, I did some running around town and came home and made a BEAST of a breks.

IMG_4031

Underneath all the granola, almonds, and fresh bluebeezies, was Chobani greek yogurt.

IMG_4032IMG_4034

Pre and post mix master flex…I die.

IMG_4281

I didn’t have lunch so much as a series of PM snacks.  The first being chips & hummus.  I piled my plate high with BOTH pita chips AND pop chips.

IMG_4280

PITA/POP.  Whatever, yo.  As long as it brings hummus to my mouth, I’m happy.  I may have had too many of the chips though…because I fell into a mini food coma after all the carbs settled.  Like a rock in my belly, I sunk into the couch.

IMG_4279 IMG_4276

Who knew Stonyfield made chapstick?!  Odd.

The PM went by in a blur: Kyle got home from work, I chomped an apple, we went grocery shopping for my weekend eats, Kyle left for Vegas, I went to the gym, I made dinner, and hit the sack.

IMG_3539

I was feeling avocado deficient, so I knew there was only one way to fix it.  GUAC!  I haven’t had one of these MASSIVE bowls in while, so it was about due, dontcha think?

I used an entire avocado 😀

IMG_4063

Some DKB for dippage purposes…

IMG_3913

Almost filled, but not quite, I opted for some veggies and roasted red pepper hummus.  Cauliflower and cukes were such contrasting textures, it was great.

Jay Robb put me to bed – don’t be jealous Kyle!!  When the cat’s away…  ;)

It’s good to know that my sister and I aren’t the only ones who say ______McGee!

    We say it for everything!

  13. prettyladycmu

As always, all your eats look fabu! I love that you sometimes opt for a “meal o’ snacks” as opposed to forcing yourself to have strict meals – great balance! Hope Kyle has fun (but not too much) in Vegas 🙂

  14. Lara (Thinspired)

Ha! Stoneyfield chapstick is news to me! I’d totally buy it though 😉
Chips and hummus sounds pretty amazing right now. I just ate dinner but I could go for another round 😉

  17. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga)

From your pictures, you look like a fairly small human. From your food pics, you look like you can hang with people about 4 times your size! Girlfriend, where do you put it??!! 🙂

I hope you’re having an awesome L Day Weekend. Why is it that you don’t get to do the Girls Gone Wild trip to Vegas while your boyf stays home? That doesnt seem fair. I hope you get to go to Vegas next weekend 🙂

  18. elise

shoot homes – all that flattery is going to my head!! thanks for the sweet comment. im glad im entertaining someone other than myself 🙂

  19. elise

why are snacks so much more fun to munch on all day long?

    …grazing is the best 🙂

  20. elise

it was kyles! he showed it to me yesterday and i was in shock – i had no idea stonyfield was branching out to the cosmetic realm, haha. of course i cant made one simple comment without him then launching into the economics of their decision as a company, so i tuned him out and missed where he even got it…either way, its mine now!!

  21. elise

i swear the addition of a bit of plain greek yogurt to a sh!t ton of avocado is the most amazing thing evah!!

  22. elise

its strawberry and FABULOUS. btw, i wanted to text you/call you badly yesterday as i walked passed your fave diner (viand)…cant wait for you to get here. oh, and i also thought of another possible dining option (as if we dont have enough already) – nanoosh, its also on the UWS. google it, i know youll be in heaven 🙂

  25. elise

  26. elise

i couldnt imagine a more flattering title. EVER. seriously.

  27. elise

    1. stonyfield is the new supplier to our hospital..before that it was super cheapo brand and WAY nast. so even though im not a huge fan either (ive only had the oikos greek yog since its the only “sorta dairy” my tums can do), the patients seem to like it?
    2. the loss of avocados aplenty was one of the hardest changes for me to cope with. that and good mexican food.
    3. chipotle? sign me up!!
    4. i think you should come visit and we could do a tour of the sabra factory (its in queens i think?). field trips with free samples? hollerrrr.
    5. love youuuuuuuuu

  28. elise

hahaha, ive never been called a “fairly small human” before, but i think ill continue to use that phrase. good thing licenses dont give descriptions like that, huh? eye/hair color/weight/height is def enough. im pretty average, but youre right, food moderation is NOT my thang…so its a good thing i adore exercising like a mo fo on my days off.

i sooo wish i were in vegas.
3 day weekend + gorg weather = yuck work sched

  29. broccolihut

Whoa, that breakie looks pretty fantastic. I want!
Stonyfield chapstick? Was it yogurt scented?

  30. insideiamdancing

ooh, tough call! Though Quantam has seitan… So glad I am there long enough to go to all the places I have bookmarked! Did you get the Tweet about the SABRA restaurant?!!!! I wanted to call you yesterday too when some guy had a fit and collapsed on the street. I was the only person who stopped! Though I have watched enough Scrubs to know what to do (ie, call and ambulance 😛 ) Just call me J.D.!

  31. elise

    strawberryyyyy

  32. elise

haha, is 911 the same number there? (pretend that question made sense and you understood what i was asking)

    sabra restaurant!!!!!!! whaaa!

  33. janetha

stonyfield chapstick? odd indeed. better be organic! it took me a minute to figure out what your shoulder was, i thought it was some food at first but then looked closer. i guess it could be food to a cannibal? ew.

  34. insideiamdancing

haha! Assuming that comment was to me? It’s 999 here. And nobody knows what I mean when I ask for the “411”. Being an ex-pat is hard 🙁 Lol. I know- Sabra in Boston?!!!!!! http://www.sabrafoods.com/Sabra_Restaurant.htm

  35. lena

Hi Elise, Just stumbled onto your blog not long a couple of days ago n am intrigued by it :)… your granola, looks good, was wondering which brand did you get as i’m still looking for a good granola that’s not overly sweet as they tend to be either coconutty or too sweet! thanks!

  36. elise

i usually buy from the bulk bins at a local health foods store…im not sure of the brand it is, but its a low fat raisin almond one. you should try the “bear naked” brand, they dont taste overly sugar-y in my opinion. hope that helps and thanks for reading 🙂

  37. elise

    whaaaaaaaaa?!?

  38. lilveggiepatch

I want that Stonyfield chapstick! I plant them all over the house and in every bag, but I STILL always find myself in dire straits when I can’t find one.

  39. elise

you and i have yet another thing in common. chapstick everywhere. kyle has an addiction (a legit addiction) and goes through a tub a week, maybe more frequently. every year santa fills his stocking with nothing but chapstick. im pretty sure hes going to reapply several times as we are standing on the alter. the priest will say “you may now kiss the bride” and he will reapply, and then we will kiss…haha

  40. nataliekshaw

Your blog is so cute. You crack me up. I have only been reading for a little while but I have enjoyed it so far. You have given me some great ideas for snacks and food all together. I am new to the blog world (well the having a blog world)…but as i search I have found there are hundreds of amazing blogs out there that are so great. I’m excited to keep reading.
