Second pregnancy

Apparently I started writing this post a while ago?  Ha!  Pregnancy brain and blog hiatus made for a very buried draft… **** Here’ s a bit more random info about pregnancy numero dos… These were recommended to me during the first trimester and I thought they were awesome.  I bought them on amazon.com because I couldn’t find them anywhere in stores. Keep in mind this was way back last summer when fruity stuff sounded perfect.  I was all about the citrus in those first few weeks.  Lots of lemonade and sour stuff. Just like with patty-cakes I craved fried… Read more >

Post-Partum Stuff [3 weeks]

I’m so in love.  With my little PAC man.  With Kyle.  With our family.  With our semi-insane-but-totally-awesome-routine.  I probably kiss my baby 600 times a day.  His squishy cheeks are just so adorable.  And his little nose.  And lips.  Gah.  I’m freakin’ crazy head over heels in love with him; and I can hardly believe Kyle and I created him. My body has healed pretty nicely.  I’m very lucky.  I know this has to do with good (great!) genes, an active pregnancy, and eating well.  I think raspberry leaf tea helped too.  And as… Read more >

Birth Story [part III – discharge]

[Cont from part I and part II] A Valentine’s Day to remember P arrived in his new room right as we got there.  What we then came to discover was his “room” was really just a cube with a crib in it.  Worse still, was that Kyle and I were planning on staying the night.  We had one recliner chair.  And a borrowed rolling office chair from the nurse’s station. Try learning to latch and breast feed in that environment!  All the lactation consultants in the world couldn’t make this situation work. So once again… Read more >

Birth Story [part II – NICU]

[cont from Part I] Kyle went with P and suddenly I was alone in my room (with my mom at least) and no baby.  WTF?!?  Did that really just happen?  I felt like I was in a nightmare.  What was going on!?  Worst of all was that Kyle had my cell phone and his so I zero way to get a hold of anyone.  I was stuck in my room without my husband or son.  Can someone please update me!!!!!  I was so out of touch. The only photo I had of my baby (taken… Read more >

Birth Story [part I – labor]

I thought I would need to write this up immediately so I didn’t forget anything.  Turns out, this is one experience that I will never ever forget.  Even the itty bitty details are etched in my brain. It’s taken a few weeks for me to get to the point where I can reflect without my emotions flooding over me.  The first time I tried to begin the story, I couldn’t get very far.  My hormones were still freshly surging and I got cramps just from recalling (and writing about) the pains of labor.  So here… Read more >
