What I Ate

Sunday morning was bittersweet.

This was the sweet part.

I am so glad I got this blueberry coffee cake to go.

I couldn’t help but give it the cashew butter treatment.

After breakfast I took the kids to church and Kyle went to the airport.  I hate when he leaves during the day. Red-eye flights are easier because then I just go to sleep and don’t have to think about it.  Anyway, it was all good because I made afternoon plans with my girlfriends (and their kids, obvs) so I had that to look forward to.

I made this for the wee ones and tossed it in olive oil and salt and they LOVED it. They aren’t even super into red lentils but they definitely dug this pasta. So there’s the official review. Go get some!

I did lunch face salad face plant as soon as the kiddos were down but then I immediately got to work on the backyard.  I won’t bore you with the deets but it’s going to take a century (or two weeks of naps, whatever) and requires all my arm muscles.

She loves her bunny.

Little man wasn’t feeling his nap, so after a few hours of down time I went in and played with him.

We got the “fish” Early Learning Kit, which has shark stuff for days.

We hung with our friends in the afternoon and came home to some leftovers.

P-p-p-pizza face.

I am soooo into this Simple Mills pizza crust!  The kids had the chicken and potato soup from the previous night.

This is his face when I told him he could have dates after his second bowl of soup. They both love dates.  They are def my offspring.  As if there were any doubts…

Once they were in bed I got the Oscars streaming on my comp, showered, prepped food, and then zoned out with chocolate.  I have seen ZERO films nominated and know nothing about anything in “the industry” right now, but whatever, it’s fun to watch pretty people.

I made a big mistake and didn’t plate this…so I have no clue how much I had.  Or I do but don’t want to think about it.  Yeah, it was definitely the second one.  The TCHO combined with candied ginger is dreamy, but that Alter Eco is still in my top three of all time.

I love lentil pasta and it is my go to pasta. Where did you get those chocolates? TJ’s? Also, I cannot find the link to your usual banana bake anywhere after multiple attempts to search. I get lots of results where it is mentioned but have yet to find the original recipe. Also, is that salad raw kale, raw carrots, and garbanzo beans? It must be good! thanks much

I’m not sure what you googled, but I put “banana bake” in my site’s search and this is the first thing that popped up: http://www.hungryhungryhippie.com/banana-bake/
The chocolates are not from TJs, you can google where to find them near you, but my guess is a nice grocer akin to WF will have them.
I have blogged my salad ingredients in detail SO MANY TIMES I really didn’t think I needed to bore you with this again because it’s the same as I’ve posted a million times before – those are macadamia nuts. Also avo.
