Back when I got this shipment of goodies from Pure Market Express, I knew the raw cinnamon rolls would be the item that I’d save for last. Ask Kyle how I feel about cinnamon rolls. He’ll confirm that I dream about them night and day. Not only have I made them multiple times in the past two months, but I hunt them down. If we are even remotely near a bakery, you better believe I get my a$$ a gooey roll (maybe two? and a third for the road?). So it’s a full blown obsession. … Read more >

I probably make or pack Kyle’s lunches 75% of the time. He only eats on campus a few days a week and every once in a while it aligns with my work days. Which means… I can pack both of our food the night before and kill two birds with one stone. His differ in that they often have cheese and packaged health bars, but otherwise they are very similar. I made his salad with spinach, tomatoes, falafel, sunflower seeds, and parmesan. While mine had quinoa instead of cheese. My breakfast… Read more >

Dr. Oz was on the Today show a (few?) weeks ago and he was talking about the 5 habits of “healthy” people. 1. Eat breakfast every day – I’m surprisingly bad at this. Random fact: I really love fruit salad but I never make it because I like it when it’s already at least a day old. That means I have to plan ahead so I get the exact level of oxidized fruit. I also think that bananas are the essence of any good fruit salad. That’s why I made this salad the night before. It had apples, strawberries, pineapple, blackberries, and bananas. If it… Read more >

Is there anything better than a long weekend? Yes. And that’s a long weekend house dog sitting here. With sunny weather, golf course views, and a well stocked fridge, there’s no reason to venture further than the community pool. Agreed? We drove down to San Juan Capistrano on Thursday evening and stayed through Monday. Some friends joined us for part of the time. We cooked. We ate. We drank. We relaxed. The weekend may as well be titled “blissful nothingness”. It was perfect. When we first arrived, the priority was dinner. That’s what 3 hours… Read more >
