It’s a bird, it’s a plane…

I love my new camera.  Love it!  It’s pure bliss having a toy that takes such pretty pictures.

The only negative aspect of having a Canon Rebel DSLR is lugging it around (point-and-shoot cameras definitely have the convenience factor of size and portability working to their advantage). Truth be told, camera cases are hideous.  While borrowing my mom’s this winter, I realized I never brought it out at night because of this aesthetic issue.  And such a fine camera should never be left at home.  What’s a girl to do?!

Solution: camera bags that are cute enough to carry around in public.

It’s a purse…

It’s a camera case…

It’s both!

After doing much research in the area, I found several cute and stylish options, but ultimately, I decided to get this bag by emera.

[note: I bought this with my own $ and am not being compensated to review it]

Such gorgeous quilted stitching!  It is absolutely beautiful (I really love purses fyi), and from the outside, you’d never know that it’s actually a camera case!  It has adjustable velcro padding inside so it can hold different lenses or whatever accessories you have, in addition to your normal purse contents (wallet/phone/keys/etc.).

I couldn’t be more pleased with it.  It’s not often you find something that’s both LBD approved, while also accommodating an airplane schlepping situation.  Functional and stylish.

If you are interested in finding a nice purse to keep your camera safe and sound, I have included some of the other designers I was considering below.

*emera [very classic in their styles]

epiphanie [cute, trendy, & colorful with several different styles] *these were a close runner up & I may still get one in the future, but they need to be ordered in advance because they are out of a lot of the styles

Jo Totes [similar to epiphanie with equally colorful and trendy options] *sold out in several of my favorite styles though

jill-e designs [more purse like, not quite as young & trendy] *these remind me of classic Coach bags, which I love (I’m a Coach whore)

kelly moore [men’s and women’s options with a sleek designer look]

crumpler [more of a messenger bag than a purse]

Happy shopping!!!

What do you carry your camera in?  Are you a handbag/purse person?

I love that! My camera case is one of those ugly ones, haha. I definitely need one of these.

Hehe, lots of DLSR camera bag reviews lately! :-) I just got a Jo Tote for my DSLR and love it so far and the fact that it can be a purse too. It wasn’t easy finding a decent priced vegan bag! Your bag is awesome!

i had it custom made on etsy

and of course, you can omit the leather part if that’s an issue. i love it!

and i love your bag. and also saw christine/rawproject’s post and her jo totes bag. They were sold out of my faves, too. I wanted the big white one!
