Muir Woods tradition

Happy Mother’s Day!  Starbucks run and off we go!

I ate this sesame tahini cookie on the way.  They are finally restocking these with regularity at our Nugget.  Fingers crossed it sticks.  I’m doing my part by buying them, that’s for sure.  I’ve gotten one/week this month.  And they seem to be getting bigger!!!  No complaints there!  I seriously love these.

Nugget is also carrying more flavors of Sugar Plum’s vegan and grain free cookies lately, so I guess they are finally stepping up to the plate with the void that WF left (in my heart).

Speaking of my heart…

There’s no way I’d rather spend Mother’s Day than with these people who are my everything.

Makes me so happy to be a mom.

For the first time ever we made it all the way to the end of the walking path AND THEN WE WALKED THE WHOLE TRAIL BACK!!!

I’d never done the trail because we’ve always come with the kids.  It’s definitely the coolest part about Muir Woods (you are so high, and yet, not really high at all compared to the redwoods!).

I’m so encouraged by how fun things are getting as they get older.

We made a point to stop at the Oak tree in the parking lot that they remembered climbing on last year (because you can’t go off roading in Muir Woods and that’s hard for littles to understand).

Ahhhh Mother Earth.

My biggest wish for the day was that there was no whining or complaining or fighting and by some miracle they really didn’t. (A Mother’s Day dream come true!!!)

We had a late lunch at Belcampo in the Marin Country Mart on the way home.

They still had their Brunch menu so we went balls to the wall and BOTH ordered steak and eggs. Why not?!

Oh and I got a complimentary glass of champagne too 🙂  Bubbles for me!

Whoa baby.

We also split an order of fried Brussels sprouts which were actually the best thing we ordered.

I was checking out their specialty products on the way out and saw that they had my FAVORITE flavor of ‘buch (Watermelon Wonder) so I had to get one.  I’d been looking for it at Nugget ever since I tried it and it’s been MIA ever since.  🙁  Apparently you have to drive to Marin for the good stuff.

Marin Country Mart also has an Urban Remedy, but I managed to keep myself in check and not spend our entire savings at once.

Their meat is so tempting…the house made breakfast sausage and pre-marinated chicken and fancy salami!  Makes me want to be a millionaire.

The kids played around outside and I browsed the cookbook section of the bookstore…we listened to the live music, window shopped and finally hit the road back to Davis.

What a perfect day.
