Labor Day weekend

Saturday and Sunday were weekend warrior status for me (boo).  I work every 3rd weekend at the hospital which is a nice change from my previous jobs that were every other.  I guess that’s one of the big differences between full time and part time.  But it was still a bummer since the rest of the world had long weekend. Anyway, my holiday pay started at midnight on Sunday (I think?) so even though I didn’t work on Monday I still got a little somethin somethin for ruining my 3 day off getaway potential.  … Read more >

San Fran-iversary weekend

I realize this post is hardly timely.  We didn’t get back from the city until Monday evening and then I worked two nights in a row though…sooo…what can you do?  Truthfully, my weekend recaps are my own selfish way of documenting our memories forever and ever.  If others enjoy them, great!    So let’s back track to Saturday.  I was recovering from a few night shifts so we kept the day mellow.  I ate at odd times and didn’t get close to capturing everything I ate on film.  Did you know sleep deprivation can make… Read more >

Two meals with quinoa

Five to nine weekend

My parents are remodeling their kitchen (slash living room slash dining room slash house slash annoying) so it’s a good thing it was gorgeous and sunny this weekend.    Because we had a birthday party for my dad!!  He’s 59 years young!  I’ll get to the party details later.   I have lots of photos of people from this weekend and I know that’s all you guys my sister wants to see anyway.  Food schmood right?  P disagrees.  He’s digging the solids.  We had a slow start with carrots, but bananas and avocado have been… Read more >

Weekly Recap

This week was fun.  Busy and not busy in perfect amounts.  One thing I’ve noticed about working part time is there’s a big (HUGE) difference between 2 shifts and 3 shifts.  It may not sound like it, but I feel like the time off allows me to get so much more done.  And rather than fill it with errands and chores, I can actually hang out and relax and enjoy myself.  It’s lovely.  Here are some of the things I ate this week. Breakfasts   Baked oatmeal bars with blueberries [sorry about the crappy pic]… Read more >
