Palm trees and swimming as three

Our second day in Palm Beach Gardens started more normally.  Kyle got to see the kids before leaving for work and we both got to squeeze in a run.  It feels so nice to run in a tank top!  I’m not cut out for winters anywhere.  How did I ever survive living in New York? We hit up WF again because the kids wanted yogurt and granola again (shocker…). For some reason this WF doesn’t have a hot bar for breakfast, so that was definitely a bummer (I love their biscuits and tater tots and all… Read more >

Off to West Palm Beach

Surprisingly, I didn’t feel as frazzled as I thought I would as we hit the road to the airport.  Kyle was going for work but we still got to travel on the way there together, so I had help with the kiddos on one leg.  But he was going to stay for two weeks so the kids and I got flights back so P wouldn’t miss school.  We still had a week so it was seeming pretty perfect!  I wasn’t going to let myself even think about the flight back with two kids until the end… Read more >

A weird start to 2017

Here is our first dinner of 2017.  Kale salad.  So detox-y, so typical. With a home-made miso tamari ginger dressing, this was the only “me” thing about the start of the year…let me back up. We rang in the new year like lame-os.  Or 99% of parents of toddlers.  We did nothing.  We had a kiddo birthday party on the 31st and did a fake ball drop for the littles at noon. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!  Happy New Year!!! Cue the balloon chaos. I brought P his own cupcake (I asked my friend what… Read more >

Different kinds of noodles

Non-noodle noodles are all the rage and while I’ve dabbled in the zucchini business myself, I’m just not into it.  It’s not the same and it’s not really better.  That said, I wanted to give these sweet potato noodles a try because my babes are only just now finalllllly coming around on potatoes and I thought something noodle-like might sell them even more.  Side note: what kids don’t like potatoes?  Oh mine.  The same kids who beg for roasted chickpeas, nutritional yeast, and seaweed snacks. This turned into a soup of sorts, merely because I had so… Read more >

Santa came!

CHOCOLATE FOR DAYS.  My man knows me so well. I think this is the last year we will be able to get away with working out on Christmas morning without the kids rioting their way down to open their stocking. Santa brought them each books (just like last year) which he wrapped and left just outside their room doors.  Those were enough to keep them happy while Kyle worked out, but by the time I went to exercise they were chomping at the bit.  We made them wait, but just barely… We listened to the… Read more >
