It felt like Friday when it was only Wednesday, so to say this week dragged on would be a nice way of putting it.  The combo of rainy days (when will it ENDDDDD) and Kyle being out of town somehow makes 9 hours seem like 90(000).  I know we need rain, but seriously it is RELENTLESS.  The rest of the country is blasting social media with their unseasonably gorgeous blue skies and we’re stuck inside here in Nor Cal and I’ve forgotten what the sun looks like.  Want some waffles with that whine?  Great transition Elise. To the person (hi Nancy!) who commented that I should do a chocolate review of every bar on the market…I love you and you are officially in trouble for whatever may come from the suggestion (aka spiral out of hand).  Especially with Easter and all it’s seasonal selections coming up…oooooohhhh buddy…I could be in trouble.  And by “trouble” I, of course, mean heaven. I’ve already tried this Theo flavor so I probably already blogged my opinion, but I’ll say it again – needs more ginger zing for my palate.  It’s notes are very subtle and I’m definitely into… Read more >

What I Ate (12 month old edition)

I’m starting this post with an 11 month old but I have no faith in my timeliness so I’m titling it as if she’s 1.  It’s soon! 6 am: wake up and nurse 8 am: breakfast This is a smallish meal for her since she has usually just nursed and will nurse again after her morning nap. fruit (right now it’s alllll about blueberries but bananas, melon, and apples work too) home-made puree (#1) of some kind 930-1000: wake up from first nap and nurse 1130-1200: lunch I try to make this mostly finger food that she… Read more >

I’m still way behind so I’m just trying to pump these posts out and share the eats. This was a weekend breakfast so I got to sit and enjoy it a little slower than usual, but not too slow because we have swimming at 930 on Saturdays which is definitely a struggle from time to time.  V is a napping disaster, but whatever. I couldn’t decide on which butter to use so I opted for both.  And used two forks in the process because I am too lazy to wash in between and obviously don’t want to… Read more >

I could whine about why I’m so behind but what’s the point.  Super sick children, mastitis, and an out of town husband – there – now you have the bullet points.  Moving on to the food portion from the last couple of weeks… Yup, made the curry chicken lettuce cups from Against All Grain again. This time we had no leftovers.  Sad face/happy face.  Sad because I like it and would want to hoard it for my lunch the next day, but happy because it means it was a recipe success for the whole family. Kyle got… Read more >
