Like a fat kid loves cake

I LOVE love LOVE you all so much for the overwhelmingly thoughtful comments you flooded me with yesterday.  I wanted to hug each and every person who took the time to comment for their kind words. It feels so impersonal to write this here given the nature of the sentiments but I couldn’t be more appreciative of all who offered their thoughts, prayers, advice, email addresses, cell phone numbers, and time.  Such outreach from virtual strangers is immensely heartwarming.  It made the day light-years better from the previous ones, too.  Taking all your comments to… Read more >

Dinner at Hearth

I finally got the pictures from our dinner at Hearth (from when my parents were visiting me in NYC), so here is a long overdue post. Tabla for Two

Kyle and I went to Tabla on Friday night and boy did we stuff ourselves!  Somehow we managed to order so much food we actually couldn’t even finish it all (that never happens when we dine out!).  We are the plate clearing kind of eaters 😉 I’ve we’ve been wanting to go here ever since we moved to NYC, and I’m so glad we finally made it!  When I made the reservation, I told them that I was vegan, and the waitress was so great to navigate the menu and guide me through my ordering. … Read more >

Lunch chit chat

I know at the end of my last post I said I would be back to regular blogging this weekend…ummm…oops!?  So much for that one.  Truth be told, I’ve been having a rough time getting back into the swing of things after my trip to the West Coast.  😕 Trust me when I say the lack of photos is no loss on your end.  I’ve eaten my way into a black hole of snackfood consisting primarily of peanut butter, hummus, and pretzels.  6 (six!!) tubs have fallen victim to my voracious appetite in the past… Read more >
