Life is…

A bowl of cherries!!!

We may have a problem on our hands.

Synergy has created an addict of me.  I’ve heard rumors of home-made Kombucha in the blogosphere, so I’ve got some research on my to-do list…

I digress.

I woke up effing early Tuesday morning (4:30 am) before work to do some stretching and rise & shine yoga.  Which as you can see, ended up in some AM nibbling in the form of cherries and superfruits kombucha.  I’m 3 for 3 on flavors.  It’s luuuuuurve.

I also ADORE summer fruits, so you can imagine how excited I am now that cherries are back in my life (melons and berries aren’t too bad either).  Mmmm.

Here’s what I packed for lunch the night before.  Dried papaya spears, apple, and super protein odwalla bar.

The salad is basically the same as yesterdays.  I also made one for dinner at the same time (always planning ahead).

For time saving purposes [insert 12 hour shift here]

One of my patients was a complete sweetheart, and since the day wasn’t insanely crazy, I was happy that I was able to spend a considerable amount of time throughout the say just talking to her.  Pretty sure she’s on her way out, so sad.

Look what her family sent me home with!

It’s hard to tell, but this is literally 4 melons worth of fruit…maybe more.  Heyoooo.  Prepare to see a TON of fruity desserts in the future.

When I got home, my pre-tuperwared salad smorgasbord was there waiting for me like a good wifey.

Size quantity DOES matter.

All I did was add in half an avocado…

And these new lovers…

IMG_2779

SESAME OAT BRAN sticks.  Yes, I discovered ANOTHER new obsession worthy item.  Fortunately, these are way cheaper than Kombucha AND can be found in the bulk bins section of my local health food store.  They are the perfect topping central ingredient for my salads.  Salty, crispy, and delicious – what more could I want!?

IMG_2780

In my eyes, the perfect salad has a million different ingredients, with a hint of everything, including something salty, something sweet, something crunchy, something crispy, and everything in between.  Basically, everything I can get my hands on.  In this salad, the sesame oat bran nibbles, dried cranz, bell peppers, carrots, brocc, chickpeas, and avocado made for a heavenly creation.

Guess what else I had…

IMG_2719

It may alarm you should definitely NOT shock you to know that I consumed the entire bag of SP fries in the last 24 hours.

Even though I was already stuffed to the gills in carbohydrate bliss, I still had a fruity dessert plate.

As I peace out, I’ll leave you with this…

Recently, my friend sent me this hilarious link to her debut on the Runner’s World website…check it out, she’s hilarious!

(it’ll make you smile, if nothing else)

SESAME STICKS ARE THE BEST THING EVER…….we are seriously food twins Elise, I can't handle it! Whenever I hit up the salad bar at Whole Foods, my school, wherever…I ALWAYS add the sesame sticks! They are the perfect carb-y crunch that a salad needs!

I tried the gingerade kombucha today and it tasted even BETTER than ginger ale!! Yum.

PS-Yay, So I see that you found the sweet p fries that I had!!! Success!!!!!!

I am totally jumping on the Synergy train too! I just recently gave up soda for good, so I am majorly craving the fizzie!

    Holy melon!

  3. Sarah (LovIN My Tummy)

I love Sesame Sticks! I totally agree on all of your salad components. That is why I have a Hugh Jass. 😉

Sesame sticks are THE BEST PART of any asian trail mix and I never realize that I can actually buy them and just eat them plain AND add them to salads! Yezzir!

My mom and I killed a whole bag of those SP fries in one night. With loads of organic ketchup that matched perfectly with the oily greatness.

    Love yo face!

Here's another reason to visit the good ole mitt – we're home of the cherry capital of the world!! Ironic part, I don't like cherries 🙁

I love adding salty crunchness to salads!! I used to drink Kombucha last year- I was dating a guy who was really into it, but the weird floaties really fahreaked me out! Needless to say that 3.50 is better spent on fro yo for me 😀

I love that they gave you fruit!

My family used to do the whole flowers or a card as a thank-you thing or whatever, but now my mom will just buy me a bunch of asparagus and broccoli or tofu and leave it in my fridge.

    I have trained them well…

And I'm from Michigan like K and my editor is from Traverse City (cherry capital of the planet) and her dad's a cherry farmer. You won't believe what they do with cherries–it's ridiculous.

I've never tried fresh cherries, but you are making me think I should!

I used to be obsessed with those sesame sticks!! The first place I tried them was in that generic "party mix" stuff, but they were the only part I liked! And then I discovered that they made bags containing ONLY sesame sticks….

Hahaha–I just left a comment on your previous post about how I love lots of different things in my salads too! I guess I should keep up with my blog reading and not get behind…or at least start with the older posts first :o)

And aren't cherries addictive?! I ate a whole bag of them last night sitting at the computer! Whoops…but SO good!
