13 (nearly) Thursday things

1. I don’t know what day it is today.  We are finally home after over 45 hours of transport.  Maybe 48 hours.  I don’t know.  All I know is I woke up at 6 am on Tuesday to catch our first flight in Uruguay and it’s currently Thursday in Uruguay.  You do the math.  I’m obviously in no condition to add.    2.  One of our layovers was 12 hours long.  Yikes. 3.  I just got back from a run.  Yes.  Given the previous two points, some may call me crazy.  Some may be right. … Read more >

Hi from South America

I’m not really too sure how to post from my celly. I’ve only had my iPhone for a few weeks so it’s a miracle I even had the foresight to get the WordPress app prior to leaving the country. Anyway. We decided to meet for drinks at an Irish pub my dad had been eyeing the entire vacation called Ulysses. Standard. After a round of beer (and some salty nuts) we said goodbye to Ethel (who left us for a hot date) and we walked around the corner to a vegan friendly restaurant called Yerbabuena…. Read more >

Power salad (giveaway)

I raved about Earthbound Farm’s organic powermeal salads before, and now I’m gonna give you the opportunity to win a free one to try for yourself! I tried the blueberry quinoa protein salad before we headed to South America.  Baby spinach, quinoa, sunflower kernels, dried blueberries, and a balsamic vinaigrette. Unlike last time, I made a slight alteration by adding silken tofu.  It wasn’t because I thought the salad needed more protein, it was because I had half a box of ‘fu that I didn’t want to waste.  This quinoa tasted different than when I… Read more >
