poor bruins

Well, it was a sad day for the pac 10 (except U$C). In fact, all aspects of today were kinda blah. My stomach was killing me from the moment I opened my eyes and rain clouds were threatening to pour a mother load all day long. Anyways, moving on…Kyle had his Saturday mentor date this morning, so I took my time getting up. I started the day off with a nice steamy Sbucks ff Lactaid latte/misto (also some ff Vanilla creamer).

Then I hit up the gym for a so-so work out. I did elliptical for 60 minutes alternating between levels 9 and 11, which kept me sweating, but the routine still didn’t feel like it had enough variety. I finished up with some abs and stretching, same old same old…at this point the Cal game was about wrapping up (they lost, despite the late surge).
When I got home I showered and had some lunch before getting ready to head off to Southern Hospitality. Lunch was hummus (another new obsession) with veggies and a Gary Null’s veggie burger. The mushrooms were just mediocre. They fell apart too easily in the hummus, which I’m not so sure is normal – maybe I got super strength hummus? The carrots were delish. I ended up having another plate of them. I even added some slabs of hummus spread on the veggie burger, not that it needed it, but the hummus was so good I couldn’t help it.

After lunch I headed to the East side to JT’s restaurant/bar, Southern Hospitality for the UCLA alumni football game. No JT sighting though 🙁 UCLA was playing BYU and it became clear a few minutes into the game it was going to be ugly. (BTW – I stopped on the way to grab a Sbucks iced soy latte). ANYWAYS, the one good part about watching the game with the UCLA crowd was seeing tons of people I haven’t seen in forever. There were people there who I didn’t even know were in NYC, plus people visiting the big apple that I never would have seen if I hadn’t gone to this event, so at least that was fun.

Kyle and I headed out at half time to go shopping for a raincoat. Ironically, on our way to Macy’s at 34th Street it started pouring (I knew that would happen because I forgot my umbrella)! On the way home, he was dry, I was not.

We stopped off to pick up 1) dinner ingredients 2) dessert ingredients 3) sbucks coffee (1 lb) and 4) a movie from bbuster. Dinner was a “big salad” with organic lettuce, cherry tomatoes, carrots, corn, soybeans, dried cherries, and tofu with a honey mustard dressing. Look how pretty!

After dinner we watched a docu on Biden while I snacked on (opened and finished) salty edamame and dried cherries.

This is a weird photo, I know. But I wanted to show the delicious dried cherries (since they cost an arm and leg).

Tomorrow’s plans involve sleeping in and fantasy football, plus a trial spinning class at Equinox. Who knows, this may be the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Yes!
