Day 3: Picnic

As luck would have it, the Argentinean holiday provided us with an excuse to start the day off late (again).  Cool with me!   We rented bikes and took a nice self guided tour of the city.  Being the type A punctual freaks that we are, Kyle and I arrived back at the designated meeting point (some random plaza) to return our bikes a few minutes early…aaaand there was nobody to be found.  [???]  We were slightly concerned because (a) they had our credit card number, (b) they were supposedly closing down for the rest… Read more >

Day 2: Late late meals

We slept through the entire morning. In our defense, the travel schedule and time change was really working against us. Add to that the crazy late meal times in Buenos Aires…well it’s no wonder we slept in ‘til 11 o’clock. So in lieu of breakfast we had coffee with soy milk and fresh bread. I dunked my roll in my coffee. We explored nearby parks and neighborhoods and eventually sought out a real meal. Lunch at 5 pm? Why not. Day 1: Dining at Quimbombo

Since I already shared our living quarters with you, I’ll move on to the rest of the Buenos Aires fun. After showering and cleaning off the airplane nasties we wandered the neighborhood [in search of an ATM and groceries]. By the time we returned home we were completely exhausted.  At this point we had been awake for almost two days, but it was “only” 8 pm in BsAs and they don’t do dinner until way later than that. A buenos apartment

We contemplated staying in a hotel in Buenos Aires, but thanks to the advice of a few friends, we did a little research and decided rent an apartment for the week instead.  We used apartmentsba and found a perfect studio in Palermo.   We rented this apartment and would recommend it again and again.    Pros: 24 hour security with gated entry fantastic views full kitchen (with coffee machine!!) private balcony gym & pool access washing machine in unit free wifi and apple TV cell phone (just add money to account to use) land line… Read more >
