Hospital, take-out, & home-made (food from the first two weeks post-partum)

The first couple of weeks have flown by.  It’s what everyone said would happen, and it is definitely the truth. The Newest Member of the Hippie Family

Dearest Hippie Readers, While Elise is busy enjoying motherhood, it is with great pleasure that I temporarily hijack her blog to introduce you to my new nephew!! Due Date

I waited (and waited and waited) to write this post…all in the hopes that I wouldn’t have to. Alas, here I am on the official due date of my son, not in labor. He’s in no hurry.  Maybe I’ve made it too comfortable in there.    Every time I feel a slight twinge of anything uncomfortable I hope it gets worse.  It’s a weird thing to hope for pain, especially after going 10 months (or your whole adult life, if you’ve always planned on having kids) dreading the act of labor.  I’ve been dreading labor… Read more >

39 week check-in

I finally got my iPhone’s playlists ready – I don’t know how it took me this long, but I just synched my favorite mellow music to my device.  Lots of enya, classical stuff, and other soothing songs (ie Buddha Lounge Ensemble).  I have different tunes too, but I feel most serene when I’m listening to tranquil types of music.  Hopefully that’ll help during contractions.    And since I’m on the subject of my iPhone, check out all the baby related apps that now dominate the screen.  Geez!  I used to barely have two pages of… Read more >
