the cutest kettle

Happy Square Root Day!! 3/3/09 (nerd alert)

I’m a very alpha-numeric/visual person. I won’t go into the full details, but let’s just say, I have real issues (OCD) with clocks (i.e. setting my alarm at a different time each day, doing gym exercises in round numbers, etc.)
Is anyone else unable to stop a workout on the elliptical/treadmill until you reach round numbers?
Seriously, I would NEVER stop at 58:27 minutes, or 5.38 miles. Never. Is that weird?

Cafe.

English muffin dripping with Earth Balance.

Figs.

Vanilla o’soy yogurt, to which I added POM. Someone should market this!!

Isn’t this THE cutest teapot ever!

The best part is the noise it makes when the steam comes out. It’s not loud or obnoxious, which I’m sure my neighbs appreciate, since I’m drinking tea like nobody’s b-ness. If only more New Yorkers were like me. Also, it belonged to my grandparents, so I think of them when I use it, and it brings a smile to my face. Here’s me and my grandpa from back in the day (yes, he’s Japanese, no, I’m not).

My dad sent me a bunch of old pics last week. I guess he was doing early spring cleaning. I have no clue where these came from…

This peach Yogi tea is the newest flavor I bought. It’s no sugar cookie sleigh ride, but it’s ok.

Mostly I like reading the sayings on the end of their tea strings.

Lunch time.

Hummus, spinach, and carrot sammie on Alvarado Street bread.

With peas and quinoa on the side.

Kept me full for a while…but I was still not in the mood to go to the gym, so instead I snacked.

Coconut date rolls, dried papaya spears.
I think I had about 5 times the amount shown, but whatever, why photograph my gluttony for all the world to see…I mean it’s not like this is a food blog or anything…

Dinner was a bit like lunch with a slight twist.

Introducing the newest members to the team: Flax tortilla wraps, and soy-tein with spinach

I caked on the hummus, since it’s really the best part.

Mid-munching. SO good!

Never fear VeggieGirl, I replenished my carob covered raisin stash!! I had several handfuls for dessert, along with their buddies, Mr. date and Mr. fig.

Around 1 am I had a Strawberry Chobz and (frozen) bunches of grapes. A few things I need to comment on here. (a) this was my FIRST flavored Chobani and HOLY YUM! (I’ve only ever had plain, and this strawberry was fantastic…it will def be entering the rotation now), (b) if you haven’t tried frozen grapes, do it now. they are SO good, like bite sized natural sorbets, and finally (c) that was not a typo, I was up WAY too late watching The Office DVDs my friend lent me…obsessed does not adequately describe my emotions regarding this show.

I also had a few of these dried figs.

These were so-so. I prefer the kind you buy out of bins, but they’ve been out lately, and let’s face it, a girl’s gotta get her figs somehow, so sacrifices have been made. I’m not saying I like it…
