The weather change up

Halloween seems to be the switch – and in the 24 hours surrounding the holiday it gets cold and turns into proper Fall weather.  I like the cozy feeling of layers but it’s hard to get motivated to exercise when it’s dreary and dark out until 7ish.

Fortunately I had Stroller Strides to look forward to on Wednesday.  I had some serious peanut butter reese’s to work off 😉  Kyle left early that morning for a few days out of town, so it was just the three of us playing until preschool drop off.

I had the leftover Asian slaw salad for lunch because I loooove me a soggy salad 🙂

And for dinner I made a kale caesar with sheep pecorino romano.  I could probably eat this every day to be honest.  I used the tessamae Caesar dressing.

And then I accidentally ate the rest of these smores bars.  Oops.  I wasn’t going to have dessert because it’s been, like four days since I’ve resisted my late night sweet tooth, but my will power wasn’t strong enough. Oh well.

On Thursday I did a double header workout because the kids were up soooo early.  I crushed it with weights until it got light enough to run with them in the double.  Then for breakfast I had banana bread with cashew butter.

FALL!

Another end of the week kid lunch for ya.  I added golden raisins to their plates later too.

And an open faced avo/smoked salmon sando on raw spirulina flatbread for moi.  With heaps of carrots.

I actually went back for a second after this because it was so good and I was still a little hungry.

It’s officially that time of the year.  When I need tea in the afternoon to warm myself up.  This is Tazo’s ginger tea and it’s really nice and soothing too.

Pre soccer snack.

Post soccer (very early) dinner.  They actually had pizza, but I had this TJs salad that I kinda forgot about!  But since we were leaving for another OIT / Fremont weekend I wanted to clean out the perishables.  I bathed them right after we got home so we could get in the car right after dinner and dosing to drive to the East Bay.  So we ended up eating at 5 pm.  Ha!  We eat early, but that’s even early for us!

But at least it made things smooth sailing once we arrived.  V basically went straight to bed and P had his milk dose and then read for an hour or so before crashing out.

I am having a slaw style veggie moment myself right now- i finally bought an $8 metal mesh glove which mean i am using my mandolin constantly now that i don’t have to worry about cutting myself! The julianne blade has me shredding everything- (note to self: either buy golden beets or roast the red ones)
There’s a new TJs salad called ABC+kale or something, i tried it but at about $5 for 3 servings (or dinner for me) it seems silly for me to buy again and i wasn’t into the apple or the orange dressing that it comes with.
If i don’t have an afternoon snack I’m ready for dinner at 5! Seriously if i have lunch around 1pm i need that 4-5pm sturdy snack since i never seem to get home til 7:30 or 8pm.
That tazo ginger is my favorite ginger tea since it has a proper kick from the ginger.

Hey girl!!! Hope you are doing well. I love how V schlepps her doll with her everywhere. My daughter did the same thing. I just wanted to tell you that I am a soggy salad eater😱😳🙄!! ANDDDDD thank you for turning me on to Trader Joe’s ready made salads. They are awesome on the run. I now buy them there and at gourmet shops all over the city. They certainly make life easy and keep me on track when I am on the run which is always. Also, made some of your recipes and we led them!!!!! Easy and so tasty. Hope all your friends are recovering and doing okay from the past fires. With the holidays and cooler weather upon us people start to nest. We just got back from Palm Beach, Florida and I was happy to see that all the storm devastation did not do anything lasting n the Palm Beach/Boca Raton area.

Fellow SOGGY salad eaters unite!!!! So glad the recipes were a hit 🙂 🙂 and even more glad that the Florida coastline wasn’t totally destroyed. It’s definitely switched into snuggle in blanket mode over here too – rainy mornings make me want to give in to the TV and watch holiday movies all day, hahaha.

I saw that one and contemplated it. Seems TJs has a few new salads all of a sudden! I sometimes don’t eat lunch until 1-2 because I want them in bed first before I make mine. Luckily we eat early though because I could never make it til 7-8. Back when I was working 12 hour shifts I would always have a decent snack in the afternoon because I wouldn’t get home until when you did either. It’s funny how things change over the course of your life…I am sure later on, when the kids have more activities and stay up later, we will get back to eating later and shift the rest of our meals accordingly.

Unsure if you eat peanut butter, but if you do, then please try this chocolate…

Blissinger’s peanut butter and maple oat crunch dark chocolate bar.
    That is all. 🙂

YUMMMMM. I do eat peanut butter but it just has to be done when P is asleep and in a very sterile way due to his allergies
