Three meals a day

I froze the last two cinnamon rolls and am VERY glad I did that because it meant that on this RARE morning that I didn’t have meetings for this that or the other and was home alone by myself after the kids were all at school I was able to pull this out to savor slowly.

It was a beautiful thing.

And then I vacuumed the whole house and scrubbed the baños from top to bottom. Happy day!

Still on that tempeh kick!

This bowl had kale and tempeh sautéed in sesame oil and Bragg’s liquid aminos, topped with avocado and smokehouse almonds. Hopefully you know what almonds I’m talking about. And if you don’t, get yourself to a store and find them asap. They are the most addictive snack of all time and the perfect way to make a dish go from everyday casual to little black dress. I realize that’s a super weird analogy but it’s the best way I can describe it. The meal would have been fine with regular almonds, but with the smokehouse almonds it was blog-worthy.

For dinner we had sautéed asparagus, bread, and tri-tip.

I can’t get enough of Nugget market’s burgundy pepper tri-tip marinade. It’s so good that I don’t want to eat tri-tip any other way now! I don’t know if that’s good or not, but I don’t even care.

Always end the night on a sweet note!

Chocolate is a non-negotiable because life is short and you should eat things that you want. Always. This Charles chocolate had caramelized crisped rice in it. Like a crunch bar but more rich and not as cloyingly sweet. Highly recommend! Plus it’s been on sale at Grocery Outlet for the past month for $1 so it’s not as pricey as Charles chocolates usually are, making it cheaper than any other dessert you will find. I’m sure all Grocery Outlet stores are different, but ours usually has “fancier” chocolates at the check out line, rather than in the sweets aisle, so make sure you look there. Just FYI from one chocoholic to another.

hello and happy new year to you and your family, chocolove bars has a new ruby cacao bar. I overlooked it at first because i’m a dark chocolate person. But then one day at whole foods i noticed it #1 on sale #2 filled with passion fruit and another filled with pink grapefruit. So i tried it. It was a little different than white chocolate, but i really enjoyed the passion fruit filling. The grapefruit wasn’t as interesting as i only noticed the flavor at the end. I won’t hoard this flavor but i did email them to say i would buy the passion fruit if they would please put it in a dark chocolate bar. I usually chop up their bars and add them to chocolate chip cookie recipes. Now if tj’s could only bring back that chocolate chai bar!!!!!!!
