Mundane

Monday had very little going on for me.  My bicycle (which was getting new gear switcher thingies) was finally done and ready for pick up, but aside from that I did little else worth mentioning. I started the day with another carob coffee concoction.  This time I added a tsp of carob powder to the milk during the frothing process. Turned out pretty well. Later on I had a big bowl of fruit, including two apples and some strawberries with cinnamon on top. I reread Skinny Bitch on Sunday night and it reminded me of… Read more >

Weekend wining

My previous post left off on Saturday evening…so let me just pick right back up with dinner.  My goal is to eventually taste my way through every restaurant at Santa Monica Place, so we made a reservation at Sonoma wine garden to start our last night out in style.  My previous experience with Santa Monica Place’s dining deck was stellar, so I had high expectations for this meal.    We started with some rather pricey drinks.  They were good, but a bit steep given the sub-par size of the pour.  The amount of wine in our… Read more >

Sisterly love

Overnight success

Such a productive day!  First and foremost, I set up a job interview (hooray!), so…yeah.  There’s that.  But in addition to my latest career progress, I tackled more things on my to-do list and ate some amazing meals. The night before bed I threw together a tupperware full of overnight oats.  I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I do like my oats raw.  When I was young I ate Quaker’s packets with milk like cold cereal.  I guess today’s overnight oats are just the more nutritious version… I wonder how long 2 1/2 pounds… Read more >
