Temple for Friday

Sorry I am so behind with these posts.  The weekend was so packed I never had a chance to catch up, so I’ve been doing that now at the expense of uploading photos and blogging.  Soooooo now onto Friday (of last week)…I was STILL really struggling for breakfast ideas.

I bought two of these on a whim (they were on sale) at WF on my trip there a weekish ago.  I love kite hill and am a big fan of almost all their products.

Check out the protein stats!  For a non dairy yogurt that’s pretty legit.

There was a little collection of liquid on top so I got nervous about the texture (I like THICK yogurt), but one scoop in I discovered it was nice a thick underneath.  I still added chia seeds to make even more gelled though…and I added some of the coconut clusters in the background too.  I love those clusters.  If you have them at your local Costco you should definitely buy them.

We spent the morning at Art Beast.  The kids LOVE this place.  We did every single project imaginable 🙂

Since parking is only 2 hours, we had to leave to move the car, which is dangerous because there’s a Temple coffee on the same block.

I fell into it, I swear.  😛

In my defense, I had packed their lunches to eat in the outside area but nothing for me so I was getting hungry by noon.  Sipping an almond milk cafe au lait while they played with home-made bubble wands and munched on their lunches is kinda an awesome way to ring in a Friday.

And since I was there…

I got two vegan, gluten free, soy free muffins – the zucchini walnut chai and the pumpkin pecan 🙂  Now I won’t have breakfast dilemmas for the weekend!  They are made by Sugar Plum.

Mixing it up for lunch!  After we got home I put V down for a nap and set P up to do more art projects for his quiet time (he was inspired and unstoppable), while I made a Caesar with the tessemae’s organic creamy Caesar dressing.  It’s so thick I am not exaggerating when I say I used half the bottle on the salad.  No shame in my soggy lettuce game.

Before tackling dinner for Friday night, I made dinner for Saturday night.  I was going to be gone all day so I figured I’d help set Kyle up for a successful (and easier) time with the kids by making all their meals in advance.  It wasn’t anything complicated, but I wanted to make something simple that I knew they’d all love, so I sautéed the leftover millet from earlier that week in oil and veg broth with green beans and bell peppers and sausage.  Done and done.

As for that night’s dinner…I relied on the leftover beef bourguignon and Selland’s broccoli.

Just cooked noodles to serve it with – easy as that!

Since I left the meat in the pressure cooker, all I had to do was set it to “warm” and it was ready to go at dinner time.

I love how these big meaty instant pot meals provide enough for two different dinners.  It’s more economical than you’d think!

My sister and her husband showed up on the late night and we all got a good night’s rest for an early Saturday morning…

I love how P made you something at art beast—my eyes are always drawn to the word “Mama” 🙂
I haven’t seen the kite hill Greek yogurt, I will have to look for it! We buy the plain normal one for my daughter and she loves it with frozen blueberries mixed in. But it is lacking in the protein department, so the Greek would be better.

He makes me 349857034 pieces of art every day. No joke. It’s how he distracts himself when he misses me after drop off. And I return to a FULL CUBBY of art with his and my name all over it. 🙂
