Want a free jar of nutbutter?

The other night I was super lazy (what else is new), and decided that dinner was going to involve the expense of as little energy as possible.

Enter Tropical Traditions coconut peanut butter.

IMG_7037

Anything you can think of gets elevated from good to great with just a little bit of this stuff.

IMG_6347

I heated some and drizzled it over roasted butternut squash and then had a bit more on a toasted Ezekiel english muffin

Thus far, I’ve used coconut peanut butter in savory thai noodle dishes on pancakes and with nothing but a spoon …and now I’d like to let you try some for yourself.  πŸ™‚

OH my goodness, I read this entry and nearly wept – the two bestest things ever, have been married? And they’re living together? And they have a beautiful love child?!
Peanut coconut butter – a match made in heaven…

So of course I was over joyed when I saw the offeer, and was thankful that I had one nut-butter trick up my sleeve!

    Raspberry Almond Dressing

-around a tablespoon of almond butter
    -couple tablespoons raspberry vinegar
    -clove or two garlic
-ginger syrup (by-product of making my own crystallized ginger)
    -couple table spoons olive oil

    I think that’s it!

It is soo good! I really like it on a simple lettuce salad that has things like figs, almonds, avacados, beets, carrots, cucumber, tomato, another vegetable, another fruit, anything you like…from simple salad to complex it was probably the best dressing I’ve ever invented.

Even if don’t win, I’m super happy to share this dressing idea with the veg-web-blog world!

  22. elaine

hi elise! thanks for holding this awesome giveaway. an amazing addition to nut butter would be stevia sweetened adzuki beans! it would up the nutrition profile and the flavor is outta control. the idea comes from one of my fav sandwich combos – nut butter (preferably almond or cashew butter) with adzuki bean paste (i just blend boiled adzuki beans with almond milk and stevia until a thick paste) . it gets even better when i take the time to broil it – the adzuki bean gets all gooey and melty with the nut butter. NOM is all i can say!

  23. Haley

    Pumpkin butter =)

PS: I just realized that two other Haleys have already commented on here! CRAZY! lol.

  70. veggiesrulingtheworld

Melted very dark chocolate would be amazing in nut butters. I made this creation like a week ago and enjoy it as often as I can πŸ˜‰ : I toast a sandwich thin, add sunbutter on one half and top it with grated 90% dark chocolate (it melts because of the heat) and spread the other half with mango jam. Put it all together and… SO DELICIOUS!! While I’m thinking about it, mango in nut butter could be very good too πŸ˜€

I once made a homemade peanut butter with candied ginger thrown in– it was UNREAL. SO SO good. So yeah, I think candied ginger would be faab.

  186. Katherine

Hmmm, as weird as this sound I think pineapple in a nut butter would be really good. Maybe cashew butter, or hazelnut?

  187. Lauren Theis

I would really love to make a chocolate/orange/ginger nut butter… it sounds like with the right balances, it would be amazing! Three of my favorite flavors. πŸ™‚

  188. Paige

I would be all over some peanut butter that tastes like Thai peanut sauce. So obsessed.

  189. lou

sunflower seed butter mixed with coconut butter, you must try because you will LOVE it!!!

    peanut butter with carob chips….mmm

  190. Chelsea

I think it would be great in a noodle dish!

I’m weird but I don’t like how natural nut butters are runny so I add wheat bran to them so they become more like a cookie-dough consistency! I LOVE maranartha’s raw almond butter with wheat bran. Then you get protein + fat + fiber! Perfect!

  193. Andrea

Would peanut butter with cookie dough be too much? haha

  194. Mae

Mussaman curry, coconut, peanut butter or yellow curry, coconut, cashew butter…I’m craving curry :/

  195. VCK

Peanut butter with dried strawberries. It’s like a built-in PBJ!

  196. Melissa

Molasses, pumpkin, apples, vanilla, maple, cinnamon, marshmallow….so many to choose from!!

  197. brooke

ooh… ricemellow and peanut butter is a yummy combo… or cashew butter and bananas. I don’t think there is much that doesn’t go good with nut butters!

  198. alexa

    almonds, peanuts, pretzel butter

  199. Emily

    strawberry!

  200. Lisa

Peanut butter and chocolate go well together πŸ™‚

  201. Sarah Smith

This looks great! I think that a banana, almond, coconut combo would be incredible. Some chocolate wouldn’t hurt either.

Or Peppermint chocolate almond? mmmmmm… (:

  202. Frances Hlavacek

Have you ever had an ice cream cake when you were a kid? (or ok maybe last week?) Those crunchy things in between the layers of ice cream would be a faboo addition to peanut butter!!

I would love a peanut butter chocolate and hazelnut butter. YUM!

  204. Kristie

I just had some mango tonight. And fruit and nut butter is always good together. So I’m thinking some kind of mango nut butter just might work, mmm mmmm.

  205. CH

OMG I have been coveting this stuff! Like, hard core.

Hmm, a good Pb addition. I think a good addition would be vanilla, cinnamon, and maple — all in one! I don’t think I have ever seen that combo in PB before…

I’ve been vegan for almost 9 months now and I attempted to make vegan pancakes for the first time last night. It was a total failure. πŸ™

What’s the secret to getting them fluffy like the regular ones?

  207. AnneW

    Peanut butter and chai spices!!

  208. Nhung

  211. Cari

I’m thinking some chai-spiced almond butter sounds pretty fantastic :). or some cayenne, cinnamon, and dark chocolate almond butter πŸ™‚

    YUM!

  212. Kimberly

I’m more of a savory food lover, so maybe PB with some crushed red pepper. Add a bit of toasted sesame oil, soy and rice wine vinegar and you’ll have a nice sauce for pasta! Yum-mie! πŸ™‚

  213. Lacey

The obvious answer is chocolate nut butter (that term makes me giggle every time). However, given my love of sweet-spicy-savory, what about a nut butter (hah!) with honey and sriracha? Just glob that on anything – rice, noodles, veggies, seitan – and you’ve got an easy-peasy meal! πŸ™‚

  214. Kristen

I think a pumpkin almond butter sounds pretty tasty!

  215. Sami

i think an awesome nut butter combo would be dark chocolate covered cherries and apricots in almond butter!

    xo.

  216. Sami

  217. Sami

ps- my dad would totally say something like that too πŸ™‚

I think dark chocolate cherry almond butter would be fun. Or even better, coconut vanilla kabocha almond butter. What a mouth-full!

    Have a lovely day!

  219. Michelle

    I tweeted about your giveaway!

  220. Melissa

I think a unique addition would be a mocha/coffee flavored peanut butter!

  221. Desi@ThePalatePeacemaker

Okay.. this is going to sound a little crazy… but I’ve been dreaming up a thai curry peanut butter lately: curry powder, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, black sesame seeds, and stevia to sweeten. No one steal my idea! It’s going on my blog soon! Bahahahah!

I LOVE NUT BUTTER AND THIS STUFF LOOKS LIKE HEAVEN IN A JAR P.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  222. Adam

    Apples! πŸ˜‰

  223. Gloria

    chocolate and banana!

  224. Alicia

I think that adding smoked paprika and sesame seeds would be a great way to turn nut butters more savory. Great with noodle dishes I would imagine.
