Sabra Adventure [part 2]

How cruel of me to leave off with such a tasty teaser…but before I get to the new flavors, let me continue with the day’s happenings…   After our photography session we headed into the test-kitchen (slash science lab?) to meet with Sabra’s Executive Chef MaryDawn Wright.   Seriously, check out the nerdy equipment!?!  Anyone need to centrifuge something while whipping something else up on the stove?  I wonder how often they put hummus in test tubes…   It was extremely cool to see the behind the scenes where hummus is sampled, new flavors are… Read more >

Color Scheme?

While looking at my latest food photos I noticed a trend…       My new polishes and my recent meals are far too similar in color scheme to be coincidental.  Looks like my subconscious has a preference for certain hues right now.  🙂 Top Left: corn meal grits with Bragg’s aminos and avocado Top Right: spinach salad with quinoa, eggs, & carrots Bottom Left: tempeh scrambler Bottom Right: The Better Chip chips (love!)

Sabra Adventure [part 1]

Did you read this post?  Did you guess where I was earlier this week? I can still hardly believe it myself. Obsession much?  Ummm, yes.  But rightfully so.  As far as I’m concerned, this creamy smooth rich dip is in it’s own category. The above photo is from a festival in Union Square, NY (circa 2008).  I guarantee you can’t imagine the delight I felt that day. While I… Read more >

RFD finally gets it right

I want to love Real Food Daily.  I really do.  But there’s something about it that annoys me (and perpetually disappoints me).  Maybe it’s how overpriced it is.  Or how every meal needs something extra added to it (for an additional $3 fee).  Or how the ambiance is often holier-than-thou.  Grrr. But it’s like Vegas.  I have amnesia and after a few months hiatus I go crawling back…only to remember why I vowed I’d never return.  Well.  I’m happy to say, RFD finally got it right.   With Mexi-fare.  My date was my FPIC, Ethel….
