Ezekiel muffins

Part of the cool kids club

Today was quite the experimental cooking day.  Lately, I’ve been salivating reading all my fellow bloggers’ delish recipes, not to mention jealous that I haven’t had time to sample the popular dishes on my own!  Desperate to join in on the action and give my own reviews, I grabbed my chef hat and decided to seize the day…  I don’t have Veganomicon, but if all goes well today, I may have to make a trip to Barnes & Noble.  I started cooking in the AM, pretty much right after I woke up.  Okay, actually I… Read more >

It must have been the gym

I’m pretty excited to be using Windows Live Writer since I’ve been hearing all about how amazing it is for the last few months.  Hopefully, I too, will have nothing but the highest praises for it.  Only time will tell.  But for now, I’ll stick to the day’s eats. a fresh start

There’s nothing like the blanket of white snow covering the ground to symbolize the clean slate that today represents. Welcome 2009. I love you already. Fresh starts are always a good thing. packing, shopping, and going HOME!!!

Coffee #1 frothy soy misto.Coffee #2 lactaid-y latte.Everything in moderation, right? Originally I was supposed to work today, but after the past 2 beyond boring days, I knew they could do without me, so I switched shifts and now I can do all my random errands before I go home (rather than waste precious time with the fam (finally) doing my x-mas shopping). I have been so anxious to get home!!! I really miss my family back in sunny CA. Even though I now have to work on the 1st, sleeping in today ALONE was… Read more >

candle day #1

AKA the 1st day of Hanukkah. Why are there 4 different ways to spell that? Well, since I work at a (technically) Jewish hospital, I know more than I ever thought I would about the kosher ways of the world. So, my blog title is in celebration of the festival of lights! Good thing my lunch didn’t have meat and dairy on the same plate…oh wait, I don’t eat meat OR dairy, so looks like I’m perma-kosher by default. I had to DRAG myself out of bed this morning. My alarm went off at 5… Read more >
