Finishing things

Gimme a “B”. B! Gimme anana! No?  Too weird?  Ok. Remember a few (or more) years ago when “slather” was all the rage in the blog world.  And everything was “slathered” with nut butter/hummus/whatever all the live long day?  I’m thinking of bringing it back.  I am good at slathering.  I liked that word until it got overused and then didn’t mean as much. I went to Nugget Market between creative playtime (parent co-op play group)with Valley and picking P up…and was giving the prepared section all kinds of googly eyes.  I wanted to check… Read more >

Such a Wednesday

I had no idea he knew how to use scissors!  PS he is thankful for bacon. She’s ready for a blizzard, apparently.  Or stroller strides in 50 degree temps.  Same diff. My cashew milk yogurt is awesome! A little thick if I’m being picky but now I know to use less gelatin the next time.  It’s slightly tangy and creamy and really really good.  Kinda stoked I managed to make yogurt in the instant pot! Dinner prep.  Never heard of Bo Ssäm and don’t know how to pronounce it, but it looked good! FYI this… Read more >

Fancy coffee

I don’t usually make pancakes in bulk on our busier mornings (like Tuesday) but I had super ripe bananas that I wanted to use up and they had had oatmeal the day before, soooo pancakes it was!  We weren’t even late for school either.  And I managed to feed myself 🙂  I guess my morning pancake game is getting good. I also tried this for the first time.  I got it in the mail from Jess after seeing her IG post about it, she sent me a sample. If you want to try some, get… Read more >

Leftover makeover

Leftovers are the bestovers, especially when they are waffle goodness. The recipe yield was enough for 2.75 servings, so I was still good for Monday but Tuesday was a little small. Nothing a quarter cup of nut butter can’t fix, though, right??  Here’s Monday’s serving though. Which got the Earth Balance treatment. A group of us went to the downtown fire station for a tour.  It’s a classic preschooler field trip and I think I’ve been on almost 10 of these but whatever. V was pretty bummed that we were neither climbing in nor taking… Read more >

November is for eating

My initial thought when we planned Friendsgiving for this weekend was “NO. TOO SOON!” but it was the only weekend that worked for us all.  Or at least the majority of us.  So here we are with Friendsgiving 2017 in the books. I made this mushroom, bacon, and cauliflower casserole and this sweet potato and pork stuffing.  Both are GF, DF, and paleo.  And tasty, if I do say so myself. But let me first share Saturday’s eats.  Really quickly. Kyle surprised me with a mini loaf of the Nourish Bread from Nugget a couple… Read more >
