WHAT am I going to do now that Top Chef is over? I miss Padma and Tom already šŸ™

To answer a few questions I got last post about my sushi skillz: I do have a sushi making kit that I got from Kyle a few years ago. It was a surprise anniversary present (I swear, I have THE most thoughtful BF). Since we lived in San Francisco at the time, we got tons of fresh stuff at the market in the Ferry Building (on of my fave places) and then we got even more stuff in Japantown, and when we got home he handed me a package.
Up ’til this point I thought he was just giving me the reigns for dinner, but then I unwrapped a jar filled with weird blue liquid…SO CONFUSED. Turns out, it was jewlery cleaner, for the DIAMOND earrings he got me šŸ™‚ – along with the sushi set! You KNOW you are a food lover when you are equally as excited for home-made sushi as you are for diamonds! Yeah, he’s a sweetheart <3

So now you see why I miss hiim SO terribly while he’s doing business in China…but no worries, he will be back in NYC in less than 2 days! Hooray!!

Anyways, today they needed me in the ICU, so I was a little out of my element for the first part of the day.

As usual, I stopped at the ‘bucks on the way to work for my soy misto.

Here’s the lunch I packed:

Odwalla, apple, carob covered raisins, figs, and sammie

Baked tofu, spin, greek yog, hummus, honey mustard, on A street bread, yo.

Can’t beat this combo!
Today was CRAZINESS furrreal. There were only 2 patients and 2 nurses, so at least I only had one patient (a perk of being in such an intense unit), but we had 2 codes before lunch alone! AHHHH. As prepared as you are, and as much training as you have, it’s still UNBELIEVABLY scary when your patient actually flat-lines. Holy eff!
I’m a rock star though, so currently everyone is alive and kicking. It was a rush, though, I’ll say that much. Anyways, the day FLEW by. It was 2 pm when I finally realized I hadn’t even eaten lunch! I liked it, but I’ll be glad to geet back to my regular floor (the cardiac ICU step-down) tomorrow.
After I got home I was hunnnngry. I had made some BN squash last night, so I knew I wanted this with something.
Big salad!

Lettuce with a whole lotta veggies, and squash, peas, quinoa, and hummus.
CLEARLY I can’t eat a single meal without hummus.
“Hi, my name is Elise, and I’m a SABRAholic”

Dessert, OBVI!!! Carob covered raisins, coconut date rolls, and figs.

NOM (times infinity).

I’m SO tired I just put my camera in the fridge! Bed time, fo sho!
