What I Ate Wednesday

I’ve never officially joined in on the WIAW festivities, but today’s is a special edition, so I knew I had to partake.  Unfortunately, I didn’t catch all my food on film (I forgot how hard it is to remember to take pics of every. single. thing!), but I did my best, despite being out and about for much of the day. My alarm went off at 8, but I didn’t get out of bed til 9.  I was reading, and loving every page, but eventually the call of coffee dragged me from the sheets.   I… Read more >

The tally

Elise 1.  Night shift 1. Monday’s night shift was fine.  But last night’s had a few hiccups.  It started off well enough (same patients, same routine) but after my lunch sleeping break at 3 am, I got busy.  Downside: One of my patients decided to stop breathing (which is never good). It took me a while to write this because I think I was (am) still in shock about the whole thing, even days after Easter Sunday.  What I do remember is feeling like I was having an out of body experience.  At several points I thought is this really happening?  Like,… Read more >

Don’t judge me

Ladies and gentlemen, Alexia Spicy Sweet Potato Julienne Fries with Chipotle Seasoning.  I wasn’t going to share this…because frankly I am a bit embarrassed by it…but I’m only human after all.  So I opened this bag to make as a dinner “side dish” and guess what?  I ate the whole thing.  By myself.  I know I’m not the first person to ever do such a thing.  But I’m not so sure it’s something I’m proud of.  I like eating what I want, when I want, and not feeling bad or guilty or whatever about it. … Read more >
