The weekend of Mother’s Day

As we all know I am not very good at staying current with blogging, especially now that we are all here together all day and I’m multi-tasking to the extreme. Anyway, I’m going to really quickly summarize the days around Mother’s Day because we ate well šŸ™‚ Kyle was out of town, but then he got home in time for dinner so I made a tofu stir fry. Farm Fresh to You messed up my order and sent me braised tofu instead of plain tofu so I tried that for the first time and none… Read more >

Just keeping baking…

This was the best sourdough I’ve made yet! The recipe was from heartbeet kitchen, which I discovered through another friend on instagram. So glad I did! She has lots of videos for shaping dough and showing what your bread should look like at various points that are SUPER helpful for sourdough newbies like me. We had it with Caesar salad – with leftover chicken and steak. It was SOOOO soft and squishy! And yet, the crust was crispy crunchy! Amazing! Phone peek

I average 10-1000 photos a day on my iphone but they rarely get uploaded because they automatically sync with our family google account, so as a result, the real life (people) pics are few and far between here on the blog. There are things he has to do, but of course she has nothing, so… Read more >

The starters that keep on giving

Here I am again! Popping in to show some pics along with a few related links I’ve been saving up to share. This is the sourdough discard cracker recipe that I’ve made twice now. They are tangy just like bread and can be made with almost zero effort. I add a bunch of salt on top, score half way through baking, and the kids devour them as part of their afternoon snack with delight. Next up are my two different pizza dough recipes. The first I made was with yeast, not sourdough starter, and was… Read more >

Snacks, meals, big emotions

Last week was HARD for us. We have been doing mostly ok, but last week was the first time that I felt totally burned out (which was exacerbated by the fact that Kyle was gone* for the week). *Please note, we both take the shelter in place very seriously and he put off several work trips over the past month, but he is an essential worker and sometimes that means he has to go to the field. Luckily they use ROBOTS and so he was basically by himself for the week. He drove himself, stayed… Read more >
