Of all the companies at Expo West, I think I was most excited to meet Maddy (and Alex) of Love Grown Foods. Not only had I seen their delicious granola around the blogosphere, but I was familiar with their story – and both made me want to support their mission and help spread the love. As the wife of a start-up company that’s still in it’s infancy, I’m a big fan of the way they dedicated themselves to their business and created success without compromising either the taste of their product or their principles…. After another LOOOOONG morning at the Natural Foods Expo, lunchtime rolled around and Kyle and I were beyond tired (read: ready to throw in the towel). We came, we saw, we conquered, and we were exhausted. Rather than return for another 5 hours of crowds and chaos, we decided that we had pretty much enjoyed everything Anaheim had to offer. Game, set, match. With grumbling tummies (I don’t know how), we said goodbye to the Convention Center and set out to find a real meal. A quick search on my blackberry revealed we weren’t too… Read more >

To say I scored in the swag department would be a gross understatement… This weekend I hit the natural foods jackpot! If you take a peak in one of the FIVE bags above, you’d see a little something like this… Sample size me! The fact that I was fairly picky in which products I opted to take samples of should be an indication of the quality of the entire event. Shocking as it may be, I did eat actual meals in between the massive amounts of samples. I already shared with you Friday’s lunch event,… Read more >

Imagine a Whole Foods the size of 15 football fields…now imagine browsing it’s aisles for two days straight…now imagine representatives from every product giving your samples of their latest and greatest to try (for free!)…and THAT, my friends, is EXPO WEST. In other words, hippie heaven. Friday started bright and early as Kyle and I made our way to Anaheim to register and all that jazz. And before we knew it, the doors pearly gates opened and BAM! Instantly we were slammed with people pushing samples at us…nibbles and bites of savory, creamy, sweet, smooth,… Read more >

Let’s race through the work stuff so we can get to the real story… The lunch stack! Side note: I need eco-friendly, reusable utensils. I’ve been using the same plastic ones day in and day out [actually they are made from corn or some other hippie ingredient, but still, they are most definitely not meant for reuse]. And while I am a fan of this form of recycling, it’s kinda gross. I’m embarrassed to admit that I don’t even wash them. I just put them back in my lunchbox once I’m done eating. I’m saving… Read more >
