Scheduling issues

I’ve kinda been freaking out regarding my half marathon training, especially since I’m gone for half of March for weddings (yes, plural) and bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and baby showers.  Seriously, how am I going to stay on track when I’m flying back and forth to California every other weekend!!  After seeing Caitlin’s calendar, I decided to make my own schedule to map out my mileage goals.  I still don’t have my work schedule for April, so I’ll have to make adjustments.  Also, Kyle’s birthday and friends visiting from out of town may through some wrenches in the plan, but at least I’ll have a basic outline of where I need to be.

**I haven’t yet signed up for the weekend races because I might be working.

Any training tips people wanna share?  This is my first big race, so I’m hoping the nerves and adrenaline will carry me through, but please feel free to suggest pre-race training ideas.

Looks like it will be tough with all of your travels, but as long as you fit some long runs in, you’ll be fine. If you can run 12 miles, adrenaline will definitely kick in and carry you through the last 1.1 miles on race day. The good thing about running is even if you go out of town, you can still do it. All you need is your shoes. 🙂

I wish I had some tips for you, but I’m a running novice! I wish you the best of luck and think it’s exciting that you are taking on this challenge and all the other things you’ve got going on sound like fun, too :o)

  7. Erin of Care to Eat

I am the ultimate non runner so no help from me. But I’m good life balance, so I encourage you to push yourself but only as far as you can without sacrificing your sanity!

Just remember balance! Sometimes getting runs in requires an early wakeup or an evening run. There is plenty of time in the day!
