Emotional eating

Ugh.  It’s been a loooong end to the week.  Weekends are supposed to be restorative and get you refreshed for the work week ahead, but they’ve been anything but relaxing these days.  Stressful, in fact.  We are too busy and as a result I’m choosing food that’s not the best for my body and it’s making me feel blah and I don’t like it.  I could make a million excuses about it, but the reality is, they are choices I’m making, soooooo…I should stop.  But food is comforting and sometimes I just want what I want because… Read more >

Sideboard and summer preview

OIT update: He is up to 1/8 cup of whole milk and the MD predicts another couple visits until maintenance!! Easter weekend

I had odds and ends to finish off so I just took care of business. I didn’t take a pic of either the banana bread I made, but that’s because the banana bread was for my man so I packed it up in his lunches.  And this was the only shot I got of the zucchini bread I made (for myself), because I’ve had a hard time plating… Read more >

A little lazy

I have had a doozy of a week.  Parenting is hard, yo. I feel like I’ve been cutting a few corners in the kitchen as a result.  It’s sink or swim and in order to stay afloat I’m enlisting the help of the middle aisles in the grocery stores.  And home delivery meal kit services. Ok, first off, I got this coconut yogurt at WF last weekend. It’s plain, but still tastes sweet enough.  You can’t find bulk non-dairy yogurt here in Davis anymore, so I have lists of WF things for my weekly Fremont… Read more >
