The brown version

Can you tell I’ve been behind on my reviews?

Last time I enlisted the help from my fam in consuming Nature’s Pride Country White bun.  Now it’s time for the brown buns.

The 100% Whole Wheat ones, that is!

Like last time, I have Foodbuzz to thank for these goodies.  And also like last time, I have my fam-bam to thank for the help in reviewing.

The table was set with all the necessary accessories (BBQ sauce, dijon mustard, ketchup, tomatoes, and of course avocado)

There was some confusion at the store, and I couldn’t figure out which brand of Boca’s vegan burgers was the one I usually get.  So I bought one of each.  Does anyone know the difference?  There were separate slots on the shelves for each, so it’s not like one just got misprinted or one is being phased out.  Color me perplexed.

Rather than grill separate meat burgers for the rest of my family, we all enjoyed the Boca burgers – even my carnivorous father was on board!

We had artichokes on the side, in case you couldn’t recognize that big green thing with pointy leaves…which is why there’s an errant pile of BBQ sauce on my plate (for dipping purposes).

There’s the $-shot.

These were definitely better than the Country White ones.  They held up well, despite being frozen a week or so, and provided the perfect ratio of carb to patty.  Guess I just prefer the brown ones.  Right Ethel?

BBQ and artichoke hearts, that’s a new combo.. I’m intrigued and may have to give that one a shot 😉

Lol I just bought those vegan burgers this morning. (The ones that say “Original Vegan,” I don’t know what the deal is with the other box, I’ve never seen it.) I’m a vegetarian, not a vegan but those are the ones I have found that taste the most like real burgers. I gave up meat but I always enjoyed the taste of red meat, so I try to find similiar tasting things. Now if only they could make something taste exactly like a med-rare steak, I would be all set 🙂

I find the vegan Bocas to be tastier, but if i am in a veggie burger bind i always reach for Amy’s Bistros or California (that now come in LOW-SODIUM)!! That is a definite plus since other brands often pack in half a days worth… You deserve a medal, btw, for your patience with the little children! It takes a LOT of energy to follow a few toddlers around and keep them entertained for the day, i find it is the best workout, even better than running or weights 🙂

I think the difference between the two you pictured is that the beige box is organic, the red is regular.

I think the brown box is an older version of the red- I went to this health food store that looked ancient a few years ago, a place that didn’t look like they had many customers, and all they had were those brown-boxed Boca burgers that looked as if they hadn’t left the freezer in ages. The expiration date could prove me wrong tho!
