Where’s the muscle?

This post is a few days old, but I was already so behind before heading off to Vegas for my bachelorette party that I was able to pre-schedule this post.  I’ll be back from Sin City tomorrow.  But don’t expect any posts from this weekend because (as we all know) what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas [and most DEFINITELY doesn’t end up on a blog]…

Today, I had a trial run with my wedding hairdo.  😀  I can’t put up pics in the off chance that Kyle reads this post, but trust me, it looks good.

After I finished coffee #1 and 2, I crumbled up a few One Lucky Duck blonde macaroons in a vanilla Chobani greek yogurt.

After that, we finished stuffing our wedding invitations (talk about a week long affair – so glad that’s over!) and then it was time to meet with the florist.

If you want to lose weight, plan a wedding.  I swear, I have no time.  No time to work out, no time to think, no time to eat, no time to breathe.  None of this concerns me considering my dress already fits me like tighter than a glove (currently I can’t sit down in it, so a little breathing room would be nice).  But if I were training for a race (which would be a fairly psychotic thing to do while simultaneously planning a wedding) I would be a little concerned about the state of my muscle mass.  Jillian’s workouts are great, but when you go from running miles a week to chasing the dogs around the backyard working on your tan as your primary source of exercise…well, your body composition is bound to change.*

*Please note, I am, in fact, doing more than tanning to get my heart rate up.  It’s just peanuts compared to my work outs of yore.

In general, it’s safe to say about 6 apples a day go un-photographed, just as an FYI.  But I do try to capture the pretty bowls on film to share with you guys.

Patriotic too, no?

Dinner was very similar to the previous day’s meal.

Instead of tofu, I used a vegan Boca burger.  This time the mixins’ were chopped carrots, chickpeas, edamame, and white corn.

I tossed it up and then coated the whole thing in humm-becue (hummus + BBQ sauce).  How gross does this look?  I swear it tasted magnificent, even though it looks a bit like vomit.

My goal after we move into our new apartment is to cook beautiful meals – rather than throw sh!t into a bowl and call it a day.  I can’t wait to have a kitchen!  Come August, you guys are gonna be blown away by the new direction of HHH.  I hope.

I actually love the look of your dinner. I don’t really like barbeque sauce but I could definitely handle a big glob of hummus.
Have a great time at your bachelorette party! You’re one of my top 5 favorite bloggies and now that I’ve got a blog of my own I’m excited to start commenting more 🙂

i don’t believe there’s anything wrong with a “throw shit in a bowl” menu. although i’m VERY excited for your new kitchen. 😉

I love your eats now, so I am supah-psyched to see what you whip up in your new kitchen!

    I echo Caroline’s sentiment above!

I’m not prone to muscle building or loss (ie, my musculature seems to stay the same, regardless of my lifestyle choices), but I will say that a tiny bit of push up action and stair climbing each day can go a long way! Even five minutes helps 🙂

    VEGAS. epic.

i just moved and my goal is also to cook nice meals! heating up edamame does not count for me (though it is delicious).

HAPPY bACHELORETTE PARTY! don’t get lost.

even though i would LOVE a bach party recap, i understand some things must be kept private. glad you are loving and living life and getting a fab tan in the process. a girl has got to have priorities, and i am pretty sure yours are well in line. happy partying love 🙂

Oooo I need a new salad dressing…. humbeque sounds like a good one!

Sounds like your bachelorette party was pretty awesome 🙂

Totally agree about the wedding stuff. I have lost like 5 pounds in the last week because I have no time to eat. And I am definitely not exercising much. (Admittedly I was kinda happy to lose the 5 pounds… because I put them on when I started working at my job at the end of last year, heh. Glad they are gone.)

I am also doing 6 apples a day. We sound like similar brides 😉

I kinda like the random bowls of crap… I live off of them. Sometimes I have to eat real meals at restaurants and it seems so odd.

oh my gosh, humm-becue sounds like the most perfect thing on earth. I’m definitely going to have it tonight!! Hope your bachelorette party is rockin’…
