Leafy linkage

I have been reading some interesting articles lately related to veganism, health, exercise, and the likes, and since I feel like you, my dear readers, have literary interests in common with my own, I should share them…

A heart attack proof diet – a book showing the link between a plant based diet and cardiac health, who’da thunk it!  (it’s also related to Bill Clinton’s vegan diet)

A sandwich at Denny’s with 99 grams of fat and 1700 calories – can you say coronary bypass?

Tea is the new coffee – I’m not hating on it

Salt is the new sugar – well, sure, we have already exhausted ourselves with the fight against fat (hydrogenated crap), and the war on sugar (HFCS goods)…and this is what’s left (dear people, it’s called moderation)

Exercising simply to eat more? – the article talks about how this relationship is unhealthy (I agree if it’s truly a direct correlation, but is it really possible to separate them entirely?)

As always, opinions welcome below. 🙂

I never considered the fact that there was a blurry line to distinguish those who exercised purely to eat more and those who exercised and also liked to eat but didn’t necessarily link the two events. But now that it’s been pointed out, you’re definitely right. Where IS that line?
All I know is that my mom has been practicing some unhealthy habits lately, obsessively calorie counting and going on long long walks or bike rides. She comes home and starts complaining about exercising right away so I can tell that she’s not enjoying herself. I wish I could tell her to stop and that she’s if she keeps going on like this, she’ll be less healthy and happy than ever.

I love tea, I drink at least 3 litres a day. With coffee I have an on-and-off relationship 🙂 I don´t know if it affects my health in any way, but I just enjoy the taste.
It is really freaky about that sandwich, considering that companies are often even promoting such a stuff as a healthy lunch option or the best thing you can eat…terrible 🙁 And to be honest, that sandwich doesn´t look good at all (at least to me).
I remember that salt used to have a really bad reputation in my country a couple years ago. They said it was evil and caused heart attacks and brain tumors and I don´t know what else. Then they said it was good, important for healthy heart and veins and bones etc. And last week I read that salt was bad again. Poor salt. And poor regular consumer who really doesn´t know what to do – eat or not to eat?

I’m constantly reading books and articles related to veganism and health! Can’t wait to dig into these. I’m particularly interested in the one on tea, I’m a tea fanatic. Thanks!
