My craving came back

Absence does in fact make the heart grow fonder.

You see that little angel up there?  I spent the entire morning without her or her brother and when my parents brought them back to me I was delighted to see their little faces.

While they were gone I went to stroller strides (without a stroller!), went grocery shopping for the Thanksgiving dishes I’m making, and helped Santa out with his stocking shopping. 😉  Since Black Friday sales have mostly already started I just decided to finish all my shopping now.  So I did.  Check!  It feels pretty great.

Salad making 101.  Add veggies.  Add protein.  Add fat.

Chomp away.

Carrots on the side and then kombucha.

My parents took the kids to the train museum and then out to lunch and they didn’t get home until WELL after I’d finished my food AND gotten dinner in the instant pot.  V fells asleep the second her head hit the pillow, but P stuck to quiet time.

For dinner I used the rest of the red curry sauce leftover from when I made short ribs last weekend.

This time I used pork butt, which I pulled from the freezer that morning and put in the instant pot still frozen.  It worked perfectly and shredded in < 1 minute as if it had been slow cooked for a full day.  Insane.

I served the kids’ portion with wheat noodles but had mine with spaghetti squash (both too small of leftover portions to do anything else with).  The kids had a bunch more random odds and ends, too, while I had this cornbread on the side.  Kyle was at a basketball game with some dudes, and got dinner there.

And as much as I REALLY wanted dessert, I held strong and had kombucha (#2) instead.  This is the first time since last Wednesday (when I vowed to skip dessert until Thanksgiving) that I actually craved a post dinner sweet.  As I look back, I may not have had enough to eat over the course of the day, so that could be the issue. I’ll make sure to fix that going forward.  Only one more night though!
