On the eve of face stuffing

Another week of no kids in school, but Kyle had most of the day off so I (once again) went to stroller strides solo.

I was already a little sore from all the push-ups the day before and then today there were sets of leg work that had me shaking like crazy, so I think my thighs will be in pain tomorrow.  But you know what?!  This is how crazy I am.  I’m going to ANOTHER stroller strides class at 6:30 am.  On Thanksgiving morning.  Three days in a row makes it loco enough, but adding to that the fact that it will be dark when I start…!?!?!  But then I’m gonna be home by 7:30 feeling on top of the world and ready to eat dinner four times over.

Speaking of T-day food.

I spent the morning before stroller strides roasting things for the big day.  Those Brussels were coated in olive oil, salt, and brown sugar and if they taste half as good as I think they will, I’ll post the recipe after liking the casserole dish clean.

ALL THE VEGGIES FOR MY BELLY!

On the way home I hit up Sun & Soil for a juice.  I got a gift card for my birthday and it’s been burning a hole in my pocket.

Beta Boom!

For lunch I made the same Thai salad I’ve been making on and off the past week…

This time I had more greens to use because of yesterday’s shopping trip (finally!).  I needed greens for the salad I’m making for Thanksgiving so I just got a massive tub so I’d have extra for myself, too.

I ended up having more carrots with extra dressing too.

For dinner we got take out Sushi from Huku, which is super close to us. Kyle grabbed it on the way home from work after I texted him the order.

P and V shared a bento box and a few rolls.  Their kid’s bento is so reasonably priced and comes with a very generous amount of things, including teriyaki beef, three gyozas, fried shrimp, rice, and veggies. Oh, and apple juice.  Which I save and give them in a smoothie every once in a while, if it has a bunch of stuff like beans and greens and needs some sweetening.  😉 Sneaky mama.

This is the rainbow roll and the fish on top was soooo delish.

This is the sunshine roll.

And this is the harmony roll.

Round one of three.

I couldn’t pick a favorite.  They were all great.  And the best port of all was that we had ZERO leftovers, but we all felt full and happy at the end.  It’s nearly impossible to order sushi that way for take out, so I was very pleased with myself.  Also, I love that the kids love sushi.  And that we can order from restaurants now.  And THAT is one of the things I am the most thankful for of all of 2017.

There was brown sugar on the brussel sprouts?? Huh. Did they taste sweet? I would be afraid that would burn.. or knowing my luck burn on the pan and make a smokey mess so my fire alarm goes off! (Totally happened to me with a dumb oozing sweet potato situation)
Take out sushi for the fam is definitely exciting, and great to have a place nearby- everything looks really fantastic! I haven’t had fish in years and yet have to say the only thing i miss sometimes would be sashimi. For reasons i don’t understand apparently the night before Tday is one of the biggest nights for pizza delivery. Which i don’t get at all…
