Ta Ta Time Warner

ADD post coming your way!   Home-made maple glazed nuts and tortilla chips have been on repeat in the hippie household.  Our oven is eventually going to need to be tested on something more substantial than snack food.  I’ve been eating breakfast for every meal.  Oats for dinner.  Granola for lunch.  Pancakes for breakfast.  Repeat.  It’s probably because I’m on night shifts this week so my body doesn’t know morning from evening.    Yes, that’s a new granola recipe.  Wait for it.   This new flavor of Zevia (strawberry!!) gave me such bad GERD I… Read more >

A veggie’s best friend

The difference between the old Elise and the person… Read more >

Single take

How about one photo for each meal? Crock-pot spiced brown rice with almond butter. In an effort to bring some variety to my oat routine (the horror!!) I made brown rice this week.  The crock-pot is just as easy because I leave it to cook on low overnight and wake up to warm whole grain perfection. Kale salad with seitan. No explanation necessary.  These two foods will never cease to amaze me. The Cookie Department Great Full (vegan) cookie. You would never ever know this cookie has sweet potatoes in it.  It was soooo good. … Read more >

Meatout Monday

Did you know that meatout is the world’s largest grassroots diet education campaign?    And every year, on March 20th thousands of people encourage their friends, families, and communities to "kick the meat habit” and explore a wholesome, compassionate diet of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.  The campaign started back in 1985 and has grown tremendously since then.  Check out the success they had in 2011!  The 2012 goal of meatout is to distribute free vegan food samples to 30,000 people.    My own personal goal in promoting a plant based diet is proving that… Read more >
