91 Thanksgiving posts

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving! Quite frankly, I delayed writing this post because I felt like everyone else’s thanksgiving eats were way more blog-worthy (and there were a LOT of them).  Plus, I didn’t get home from work until after 8 pm and all I wanted to do at that point was put on my PJs, watch football (slash Home Alone), and stuff my face (not in that order).  On a holiday such as this, it would feel weird to eat before giving thanks, and so I feel as though I should acknowledge what I’m grateful for… Read more >

Time check

Let’s see if I can piece my Saturday together… 2:30  Wake up check clock, go back to sleep 3:00  Wake up, check clock, go back to sleep 4:00  Wake up, check clock, go back to sleep 4:35  Wake up, check clock, go back to sleep 5:13  Alarm goes off…finally this wake up call is for real 5:14  Brush teeth and brush hair slick the afro back into a ponytail 5:20  Get dressed (my scrubs, undies, tank, socks and shoes are always neatly laid out on the chair in the living room so I don’t wake… Read more >

Baking brownies and eating them too

So if you go to bed at 2 am, it would only seem natural to sleep in extra long the next day to catch up, right?  Somebody tell that to my body.  My rebellious REM cycle had me up WAY too early on my Monday off.  Darn it.  The one perk of being up before the sun?  I was able to get all my errands done that had been piling up since last week.  After my laundry was started (and my coffee was a-brewin’), I threw together some vanilla protein pancakes (yes, that’s what the… Read more >

The massive recap that never ends

Seriously, I hope I’m not boring you all, but this trip home was so epic, that even the Cliff’s notes version is miles long… I guess I will continue from where I left off (Saturday PM). Since the Nike half marathon started at 7 am (and I had no desire to commute into the city before that ungodly hour) I stayed at my sister’s apartment the night before.  At least something positive came out of last month’s half marathon pre-race disaster (i.e. 4 am wake up calls are NOT conducive to a happy hippie).  Spooning… Read more >

C to the A

Heyoooo from the sunny(ish) state of California.  Yes, I am finally home after a painful flight home.  I gave the flight attendants quite a scare with my near-fainting.  They kept saying how pale I looked, and I kept telling them that was my baseline color, but I felt SOOO miserable, I don’t think I was too persuasive.  Either way, I slept through the first half of the crack of dawn flight (which was my goal), but woke up around 10 am feeling like I was going to spew my guts.  Lovely, no?  I thought maybe… Read more >
