Vegan sausage stew & other faves

I followed last week’s fitness and meal plan almost 100% (like 97%)!  [I’m just as shocked as you are] The only thing I’m not posting a recipe for is the lentil “meatloaf” – but that’s because I’ve shared a few others already.  This one was most like the mushroom version (the first link). The kale salad I made is basically this one. The chili recipe is here. And last, but NOT EVEN REMOTELY least, is the sausage & spinach stew. Okay, so this is my favorite dish at the moment.  I had the leftovers for… Read more >

Brrrr…time for chili

We bought duraflame logs at Target last week so that means it’s officially fall.  The season of soups and stews!  Or maybe that’s winter.  Either way, it’s time for warm comfort food.   Crock pot recipes do NOT photograph well (and I’m not the type of blogger to dirty extra dishes to better show off a recipe).  So you’ll just have to trust me that this tastes better than it looks.   I know I have a (few?) chili recipe(s) on HHH already but this was really good.  Plus, after a summer of neglect, the… Read more >

Trying different things

I ate something different for breakfast every day this week!  That’s so unlike me! Monday: two fried eggs + aged goat milk cheddar + avocado Tuesday: open faced GF toast + aged goat milk cheddar + avocado   Wednesday: banana baked oatmeal + peanut butter + protein powder   Thursday: oatmeal + almond milk + raisins + peanut butter Friday: Udi’s GF bagel + peanut butter + fried egg   Kinda been tweaking my morning routine to try and get more protein in on the days when I eat oats and toast.  Adding protein powder… Read more >

Punkin’ for my punkin’

Soooo, we never got around to carving our pumpkin.   But it didn’t go to waste… Friday afternoon we were housebound while waiting for our wine delivery to come (I had to be home to sign for it since we’d missed the first two attempts). So what did we do?  Played with pumpkin guts. P watched on as I hacked our little sugar pumpkin from Impossible Acres open and scooped out the seeds.  I roasted them – making half savory (salt & pepper) and half sweet (cinnamon & stevia).  [BTW, I did not boil them… Read more >

Halloweeeeeen

Nothing spooky going on over here!   My little lion got his trick or treat on in downtown Davis today.  Man was it crowded!  It was pretty fun going from business to business, showing off our cutie pie, collecting sweets, and enjoying the warm October sun.  His favorite thing of all was the red balloon he got from Mathnasium.  Nerd alert, ha. Hope everyone got their sugar fix tonight.  😀
