Pumpkin Butter Grain Free “Granola”

This isn’t the first time I’ve made a grain free granola (aka no-grain-nola).  You can see the non recipe for that one here.  [Side note: I should really re-make that and measure things for you guys because it was good!] Anyway, this was another winner.  I swear I’m going through granola by the pound.  Daily. I made this mostly because I had a jar of pumpkin butter in the fridge that needed to get consumed before we made the trip up to Davis.   Who has this pumpkin butter?  It’s from Trader Joe’s and as… Read more >

Our last week in LA

Highlights only.  I could never recap an entire week! Footed PJs are the cutest thing ever. Saturday morning we had an open house.  Rather than subject P to a million people germing up the joint, I took him for a walk.  We went to the Farmer’s Market to re-stock on spinach (this habit requires a constant influx of greens). After everyone left I came home and got ready for a BBQ with friends.  We picked up some apps on the walk over (oh how I will miss these easy walks to friends houses in Santa… Read more >

Separately vegetarian

In the beginning of our relationship (8!!! years ago), Kyle and I ate different meals 99% of the time.  Then he went vegetarian a year ago and we started eating the same things.  It was pretty cool to plan dinners and grocery shop for us both in the same way.  We still eat this way…until this past week… In an effort to clean out the fridge, I’ve been making a ton of not very FODMAP friendly meals for him.  Meanwhile I’ve been on a total salad bender. They all have the same theme.  NUTS!  Lots… Read more >

Mushroom “meatloaf”

I think people come here for photos of P more than recipes now.  I don’t blame you!  I think he’s the most adorable little guy, too.  But I still feel inclined to post about food because that’s why I started HHH in the first place.  In any event, here’s a good one to hold you all over.  🙂 Lately his smiles are less random and more often the result of us making faces and interacting with him and it makes my heart melt. I can only imagine how amazing things are going to get from… Read more >

A Native reward

Kyle and I had a date last weekend at Native Foods.  Again.  I love love love this place and so even though we swore we wouldn’t spend money going out to eat when we had so much food to finish off before moving, we got an invitation from friends (they picked Native Foods!!) and so we took it as a sign couldn’t turn it down.  So here’s the thing.  I’ve used the restaurant’s rewards card every single time we’ve gone and never gotten anything.  We’ve been the Palm Springs location, the Culver City location, the… Read more >
