Philly: White Dog Cafe

Last morning in Philly! Rather than trek into Center City again, we stayed in our ‘hood for breakfast. Even though they are right next to each other, I’m not very familiar with either Penn or Drexel’s campus. Celebration of Mothers

To all the mothers in my life.   You are amazing. And to my own madre…     Thanks for holding my hand when I was scared. Thanks for doing all the worrying on my wedding day so I didn’t have to. Thanks for teaching me how to cook. Thanks for instilling in me the value of family. Thanks for encouraging me to be me. Thanks for passing along the fast metabolism gene. Thanks for making sure our vacations are the perfect amount of nerdy. I love you.

Philly: Continental

  My groothie was the perfect energy boost I needed so I could walk the long way home from center city. A face in my food

My breakfast says smile. Toast.  Almond butter.  Cinnamon.  Agave.  Raisins. Happy face. And now a few random things… Today is the second annual LA vegan beer & food festival.  I’m working though, which means I’m insanely jealous of anyone able to attend.  Please go and enjoy some catering by M Cafe and The Veggie Grill and the Fresh Fries food truck for me… Thanks to everyone who tweeted, commented or emailed sending me love for nurses week.  It’s a really awesome feeling. Let’s call it summer (giveaway)

We are deep enough into May that I’m comfortable calling it summer.  I mean, it’s basically June, which is definitely a real summer month. So yeah, I’m thinking it’s time to start celebrating the season. Who’s with me? Cocomo Joe is, that’s for sure.
