Rain rain go away

I was feeding them breakfast the other morning when the doorbell rang…they were eating leftover steel cut oats with all the toppings you see below (sunflower seeds, maple syrup, raisins, shredded coconut).  I thought to myself who could possibly be ringing the doorbell at 8 am?

It was our neighbor dropping off Girl Scout Cookies!

She is THE CUTEST.

I ate after the kids were done.  This batch is going faster than the last.  I think my appetite has been higher than normal lately.  I feel like I’m eating bigger portions than usual.  And that’s saying a lot because my portions are usually kinda enorm.

Can you believe the amount of produce we go through?  They aren’t even close to the teenage years when they supposedly demolish the fridge in a day’s work.  And yet, here I am, buying bulk stuff around the clock because the cuties, apples, and bananas literally *vanish* in front of my very eyes.

This is that end of the jar macadamia nut dust sitch.  As in heaven for my face buds.  I really went way overboard though.  I felt full and blah, but then I spent their nap time doing so much housework I was sweating.

We had a park date with friends in the pm, but then a freak hail storm hit so we swapped our play sesh for indoors.

I had already made dinner so when we got home that evening, everything was ready to go.

Remember that amaaaazing lasagna soup?  I made it with shells instead.

I wasn’t sure how P would like this because he’s not into tomatoes.  But it has the rest of his favorites in it – ground beef, noodles, vegan cheese…he had no clue though and ate 5 (FIVE!) bowls full. Full disclosure: his is using a ridiculously small bowl because, ugh, he’s a toddler.

YUMMMMMY.

After dinner I made their breakfast for the next day…oats again, but this time with ground flax, pumpkin and sesame seeds and goji berries.  And raisins and hemp seeds. Then I packed snacks for school (I always pack Kyle’s and P’s, but I was snack person for V the next day too).

Have I talked about this bar yet?  I think I did, but just in case, let me just say it’s worth the $7 is costs. I’ve never ponied up the $$$$ for Charles chocolate before but you know I went all in during that WF 50% off sale.

It’s part coffee, part toffee, and all kinds of yum.

Can the rain puh-leeze go away?  I think V knows a song about that…  😉

Cute! Did you try those new cookies? Any good? That chocolate bar looks amaaaazing. Good Chocolate is really hard to find around here (in the Peruvian Amazon), which I guess is not surprising, but your blog is driving me insane for good chocolate and I’m totally out of luck! haha!

How do you like the Ancient Harvest corn and quinoa pasta? I have had it in my hands so many times in the store only to put it back down and go with brown rice pasta.

I love your produce situation! We always have a ton too 🙂
