What We Ate

Uhh, I finally got to catch up on some writing this evening (I did heaps of gardening this weekend because it was finally sunny!! and therefore didn’t have much computer time), so I’m going to be sharing a bunch of these from last week now.  It’s not too too late, right? Good.  Hopefully you aren’t sick of the “what I ate” style posts yet?  If you are don’t tell me, ha.  Just kidding, you can say whatever you want.  🙂

Pancakes and blueberries for them, and a GF blueberry scone for me.

This was the scone I got last weekend, which I managed to wait a whole TWO days to enjoy (I had so many other yummy things it was hard to decide!).

I added almond butter because it’s me.  I’m glad I did because it was good on it’s own, but the extra calories were necessary to make it to lunch.  I squeezed in a T25 workout at 6 am (set my alarm for 553, ew) so I could get a good sweat on before the kids got up (Kyle was already gone so I knew I had to be ready whenever they woke).  P has an “okay to wake” clock that is set for 630, so he’s in our room at 630 on the dot, ready to take on the day.  He did not inherit that from me.

Anyway, my workout had me totally sweating, and therefore very in need of caloric recovery. Mega perk of exercise!  Metabolism for the win.

P had school and so after I dropped him off I went to library with V.

She had apple slices on the way home and he had a snack at school, and neither seemed particularly hungry. Definitely abnormal for her, but I think she’s teething. Who knows…

This delightful looking snack that I packed for him is a “cookie” made of white beans, pureed dates, cashews, banana, and flax, and some other stuff.  I posted the recipe here.  He loves them, in spite of their appearance, and legit thinks they are cookies.

I got this 4-pack of organic tofu from Costco on sale AND with a rebate which meant it was only $3.99!  For FOUR packs of organic tofu.  S.C.O.R.E.

I made them smoothies for lunch with spinach, banana, almond milk and tofu and that was all they had.

Standard.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you about the snooze-worthy repetition with my lunches.

Kyle was out of town so I had odds and ends for dinner.  I made the kids rice bowls.

There was bacon and dates in them, which is what this happy dance is all about.

Dessert face before passing out.  Kyle got home while I was sleeping…
