I missed rabbit rabbit

I have so much to say but I’m so exhausted.  Last time Kyle was gone the kids were sick but at least I was healthy.  This time I’m sick (too) and there’s only so long that you can fake it. But I will forge ahead because he is coming home soon and we have so much fun stuff planned this weekend. You know what people email me the most about?  Well, allergy stuff mostly, but aside from that I get asked how we do “media free” for the kids.  I haven’t ever responded in a formal… Read more >

What I Ate

Sunday morning was bittersweet. This was the sweet part. I am so glad I got this blueberry coffee cake to go. I couldn’t help but give it the cashew butter treatment. After breakfast I took the kids to church and Kyle went to the airport.  I hate when he leaves during the day. Red-eye flights are easier because then I just go to sleep and don’t have to think about it.  Anyway, it was all good because I made afternoon plans with my girlfriends (and their kids, obvs) so I had that to look forward to…. What I Ate

Buenos dias! Ran out of kid bowls. Then I finished this off.  Was pretty full after but knew that leaving <5 bites for the next day was a very lame option.  So I just did tha thang. This is now in V’s kitchen.  I’ve ordered the tomatoes with olive oil and I can verify that the chef is quite talented. Rain rain go away

I was feeding them breakfast the other morning when the doorbell rang…they were eating leftover steel cut oats with all the toppings you see below (sunflower seeds, maple syrup, raisins, shredded coconut).  I thought to myself who could possibly be ringing the doorbell at 8 am? It was our neighbor dropping off Girl Scout Cookies! She is THE CUTEST. I ate after the kids were done.  This batch is going faster than the last.  I think my appetite has been higher than normal lately.  I feel like I’m eating bigger portions than usual.  And that’s saying… Read more >

The first day of tee ball

This is the easiest meal ever. You could use any pre-packaged Asian salad mix, or just make your own with bagged slaw, cilantro, and shredded carrots (all things we typically have on hand).  Toss in sesame seeds, nuts (slivered almonds and cashews for us), and a sesame dressing (I keep the TJs soyaki one in the pantry for such situations). I added baked salmon to everyone else’s but wasn’t really in the mood so I had a bites worth just for some protein, fats and omegas. This filled in for the fish.  😉 I made… Read more >
